[WIP] The Eagle Has Landed - Enclave MQ Overhaul

Post » Sat Feb 13, 2010 8:38 am

Recruiting locals will be up to the player. If he/she feels humane and does not use FEV in the Purifier, that means he/she is likely eager to bring the slightly mutated locals to the Enclave's flock, too.

That seemed to be Autumn's plan for PP....if you're not going to kill them all then one may as well co-opt some of them into the System and put them to work keeping down the others. After some time in Big-Town the Enclave...and three hots and a cot...will look mighty good to those kids.

Yeah, but remember, little lamplight is full of inbreds. I'm sure that counts as some sort of mutant. :P

They can screen for that, too......somebody has to die gloriously for the Enclave, why not them? :hehe:

Most DLCs will be unaffected - at first.
Broken Steel will be changed in a way that its questline will never happen. However, you will have access to its locations and equipment.

Pistolero, can we have an update - or give me an update if it's not suited for the 'players'. 'Cause I'm dying to get this done.

Honestly, I've been inactive with this mod for a few days, as I'm busy updating my numerous companion mods.
But some highlights:
1) Fixed EMQ03 from A to Z. It now works without CTDs. If I recall correctly, there was one stage not working in Rivet City, where the next stage was not triggered by picking up Dad's note.
2) Improved the Ghoul sidequest a bit.
3) Gave first actual objective for the Traitor sidequest.
4) I tried to get EMQ04's start working as intended but failed. Eden's ZAX eye just won't talk to Colonel Johnson, but instead just look at him.

I can send the file to you.

You should add a special Plasma/Laser Pistol/Rifle at the end of the MQ when you become the leader of the Enclave, or second in command

Kyntak, I must ask you again to add something new to the mod. Anything. Use your imagination. Conclude connecting EMQ02's tail with its head by establishing a some sort of a spine with the help of ELS02 and the need to explore something.

I also suggest you get EMQ03's Rivet City incident working:
1) You go to Rivet City
2) When you use the Intercom to go to RC, trigger stage where you gotta search the place
3) Everything works past this, till you get to Dad's hotel room
There is a note, which you must pick up and read.
However, I failed to get it start next stage (infiltrating Pentagon)

Other than this, the quest works rather well.
Except for the infiltration scene's Recon Armor part. It's meant to force-equip Recon armor to you when you have some, but the stage won't trigger.

Anyway, past this the quest works.

You think that it might be possible to add the RTS mod into this (with Enclave tweaks, special Enclave Buildings. etc.)? You know, to colonize the waste lands with Enclave troops/buildings.

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7070

I can imagine it now, that once you have completed the MQ, you can lead a team of Professional troops and reclaim the good ol' USA!

All Hail, Ruler of the wastes!

EDIT: Any Updates?

That will be up to the RTS mod's creator. I have never used RTS myself so I can't really be the one making a compatibility patch.
Yet,
it would be rather simple. Just replace RTS's building materials with Enclave stuff, equip citizens with numberless Vault Suits and enable RTS only after The Eagle's questline.

Kyntak currently has the files so we must wait for him to report any progress.

Do not worry, I an still here :P.

As for progress, well, not much - I'm doing my massive work session from Friday evening to Sunday evening, but I am working on it when my schedule allows. Wait till then for a status update :D.

I must remind that I have http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abitur#Exams coming soon so I won't be able to spend so much time with this mod.
I will be having total 6 exams and 2 listening comprehension tests. First is in Feb. 12th and last in March 26th.
Those tests will pretty much rule what kind of a future I will have, so I gotta put some effort to them :P

Those exams look like some heavy stuff, I hope you do well and you have the Enclave's blessing - good luck for when they come around :tops:

To be honest I'm not a die hard Enclave supporter, I just have a great passion for scripting, and with a little luck, found my opportunity to explore the world of modding.

Good on ya Pistolero :goodjob:

Wow, going to download this for sure when it's released.

Two questions though, what are you doing for voice acting? Also what are you going to do with the radio news? I can understand leaving in the main quest news because it'd and a nice "Not the only character" feeling but the new for side quests being reported as done by the lone wander would be kind of odd to me.

Voice acting will be based on volunteers who honestly have at least an adequate voice.

Radios will remain pretty much the same except that quests disabled in this mod (Wasteland Survival Guide, Galaxy News Radio) will be marked as completed by GNR so Three Dog speaks about them. The idea is that the Lone Wanderer has done these things, while you are left the other quests (Strictly Business, Power of Atom..)

This will be awesome because then I will be able to play a Bad Dude.
I can obliterate people with the catch cry "This is a matter of National Security!" *blamblamblam!*

Aye. That's the purpose of the mod; Giving the chance of siding with the bad guys and hearing their side of the story.

@Kyntak: Have you made any progress? If not, great, since I'm having a huge urge to mod this now :(

EDIT: Too late :(
I already started :(
New sidequest started. The Vault 101 sidequest
You can do it during EMQ04

I got it all figured out now. I know exactly how it's going to go.

Actually, before I move into the bulk of the quest, I'll just try to finish EMQ03 first and then get EMQ04's start working enough that you can speak to Eden.
But of course, if you have made progress in the past few days Kyntak, my works can wait since I haven't really made anything during these brief moments.
And due to my timezone, today is at its end here now.

Well, no need. Just do your magic and send me the file. I can "experiment" on my copy for that time, with no fear of ruining things up since I won't be losing anything :)

At first I wasn't into the idea of being an Enclave soldier but this sounds too in depth to miss! Yet another reason for me to get my computer upgraded to play Fo3 on it!

Quick question that might have been mentioned that I missed;

Do you have a gender option on this character?

Of course.
When you start a new game, there is a blackness during which you select your race, name and looks.
