[RELz/WIPz] The Eagle Has Landed - Enclave MQ Overhaul

Well, then you must find something that will be more important to the BoS than PPurity... How about kidnapping someone important?

But who? :P
The Enclave shoots before asking.

Also, what prevents the player from killing the target?

But of course kidnapping may take place.

As far as kidnapping someone, how about Sarah Lyons? She could simply be patrolling somewhere along with several BoS troops; maybe checking in on GNR? Considering her relationship with Elder Lyons, the Enclave would have a major advantage; as long as she was alive, that is. The only problem is that I don't think there are any voiced lines with her that could be made to fit a kidnapping scenario...

Just a thought from a guy that'll be really happy to see this finished. The vanilla opening sequence is getting kinda bland... this'd be just the thing to spice it up. The proposed quest line? Well, that just makes it better. Hope to see this when it's done(ish).

Or you could kidnap the squire if you want to be really evil. Tell him that you need his help on a super secret mission. This would be with a speech check or the Child at Heart perk, of course. Maybe you can increase your chances by giving him a gun?

BoS does not have enough manpower for one man's rescue mission, even if you kidnap Elder Lyons himself.

Then what can be more important than PPurity? How about staging a special meeting with the West Coast BoS, which are "proposing" to re-establish all connections? I think that can take priority...

Wait, is this after the events of the MQ or when the Enclave gets to PPurity for the first time (and your dad kills himself)?

IDK if this has been asked or not... or even suggested... but are you going to be able to pick what story you play before you start, so you don't have to disable the mod whenever you wanna play the main game, if you were not going to do this I would suggest you do due to the fact that a lot of people would be annoyed by having to disable the mod just to play the regular age... anyway it was just a suggestion... and I look forward to the final product!

P.S. I don't have much modding experience and i would like some... so if I can help in any way Email me or PM me! I am also willing to Alpha/Beta test, a lough I think that you already got that covered... by the people...

Thanks,
Nick

[Spoilers start from here!]

Narrowly rescued by your childhood friend, your last choice is to continue where your now-dead father stopped. You recieve a clue and with that head to Rivet City, where your father worked on infiltrating Project Purity. A note reveals that the Project lacks a G.E.C.K., and the Enclave knows the location of one. However, due to complications related to your father's disappearance, James' sudden emergence and failures in communication, the Enclave had to rush it. Therefore you must search for the G.E.C.K. The note also reveals that the Brotherhood of Steel also might be in possession of one, so you have to infiltrate it. Your path leads to Vault 87, where you have to co-operate with your nemesis, the Lone Wanderer, to recover the G.E.C.K.
Getting the G.E.C.K. would prove easy as it is, but getting away with it will not...

Another Suggestion is that... if it is even possible... to have the ability to make the Loan Wander be and exact replica of the one in one of your save games... that updates him whenever you play on him... I know my suggestions are prolly a lot of work, and if you don't find them to be important or even good, no hard feelings. Any-who, I think that would be really cool.

P.S. See my last P.S. XD

And here comes the mega post.....

Guys; lets get something straight here..........

That would do it. But I think it should respect the original FO3 storyline

EXACTLY!!!! Coolness & Lore >> Lore >>>>>>>>>> Coolness

Wait, is this after the events of the MQ or when the Enclave gets to PPurity for the first time (and your dad kills himself)?

The EMQ runs linear to the events of the MQ; the Purifier scene is when it happens in the vanilla.

We may create a pick a story line event, but as of now you must disable the mod when creating a new game.

Our ALPHA/BETA testers are the people who download the mod but Pistolero and I test it to see if we can find any major bugs. On the save game LW, what if the player has many saves, all of them with different LWers?

P.S. It's in bold because I though I'd try and make it easier to distinguish quote form reply =S

So what's the problem? The Brotherhood didn't know yet that the scientists were in PPurity again and to not notify them, the Enclave took a little detour with the Vertibirds so they won't fly over the citadel...

On the whole kidnapping thing, there is absolutely no reason the Enclave would do something like that. The Enclave has taken prisoners, but only if they can be useful by working for the Enclave. Not for political reasons.

Or you could kidnap the squire if you want to be really evil. Tell him that you need his help on a super secret mission. This would be with a speech check or the Child at Heart perk, of course. Maybe you can increase your chances by giving him a gun?

As with the above, the Enclave doesn't kidnap people just for the sake of it. It murders, plunders and exterminates. Three Wastelanders have joined the Enclave (The Chosen One, Anna Holt & Stiggs) but none have been kidnapped.

BoS does not have enough manpower for one man's rescue mission, even if you kidnap Elder Lyons himself.

Yes. Brotherhood lacks all the manpower to do anything. They said it themselves. Liberty Prime was the only reason they came out of the Citadel in the first place.

Of course, this conflicts with the fact that Brotherhood attacks Jefferson in this mod, but it was the most logical solution I could find.
Then what can be more important than PPurity? How about staging a special meeting with the West Coast BoS, which are "proposing" to re-establish all connections? I think that can take priority...

No way the Western Brotherhood would cooperate with the Enclave. In Fallout 2, for one, the Enclave invaded a Brotherhood bunker, massacred the people inside and the Brotherhood would never help the Enclave anyway, judging by that the BoS is well aware of what the Enclave is aiming at.
That would do it. But I think it should respect the original FO3 storyline

Indeed but also Fallout 2 storyline.
Wait, is this after the events of the MQ or when the Enclave gets to PPurity for the first time (and your dad kills himself)?

This is confusing indeed.

No, you can't pick what storyline you wish to play.
This mod is the first of its kind and probably the last.
Building the mod required disabling much of the original storyline to make TEHL work. So even if we tweaked the start of the game, you still couldn't complete the vanilla storyline since scripts have been removed and changed to match with TEHL's quests.

Another Suggestion is that... if it is even possible... to have the ability to make the Loan Wander be and exact replica of the one in one of your save games... that updates him whenever you play on him... It is impossible to do that. 100%.
So that's a "no".

It was a plot hole I was ready to take. Indeed, the Brotherhood didn't know that James is back. However, to make the storylines match, I had to send someone to inform the Brotherhood. I picked Dr. Li for this task. Thus the Brotherhood arrived at the nick of time when James did his suicide attack.

If that's what you say, then you aren't going to stick to the vanilla story...

And about the west coast BoS, I meant that the Enclave would have arranged a fake meeting. For example, you could show up in your BoS armor in the citadel with a holotape. You say to them that you were exploring one of the satellite towers to the north when you heard a broadcast from the WCBoS. You immediately recorded the holotape and went back to the citadel. It will be all lies to pull the Brotherhood away from PPurity.

We are sticking to the vanilla story but we are ready to take alternatives if it is necessary to tie up the mod's and the vanilla game's stories.

On BoS, seems complicated but that's not impossible. Maybe something that happens when you're purging last BoS resistance later on.

Is it at all posibble to have the player make the Loan wander at the start when he/she makes his/her charactor?

And like I said before, i was hopping I could use this mod as a learning experience, to learn from some of the best, so if I could help or you could teach me, through makeing the mod lemme know, if you want to know what I can and cant do just ask me and ill PM you.

No, it is not possible. There are way too many script conflicts.

It is possible, in theory, to completely separate the two storylines (mod and vanilla). However, we would have to do extreme amounts of work, such as copying all of President Eden's, Colonel Autumn's and other important characters' dialogues to our quests. That would take weeks and would be a waste of time and space.

How is the work going, any updates?

btw I am really looking forward to this mod, great work lads :D

We are still wondering what would happen in quest 4 :(

My exam period is over, though, and I can really work on this mod again. I've started doing Quest 5 while Kyntak is mostly focusing on 4.

On designing a LW; I don't know, I suppose it is possible but it's definitely down low on the priority list. Your offer to help is appreciated, but we pretty much have this covered for now. If the situation arises we will inform you all.

Pistolero is spot on, exams are done for both of us and we can work more on the mod. Right now I'm fascinated with quest 4 and he is working on 5.

Thanks for the support :).

Just asking one thing here though:

I would like to make this mod as lore-friendly as possible, and preferably Fallout 2 lore.
Besides civilians, there were also many ranks of soldiers in FO2. Enclave initiates wore Combat Armors, and regulars wore Advanced Power Armor, but there were also the "workers" who were wearing T-51b armors.

I would like to see those sledgehammer-armed storage troopers return but T-51b is unique and rare in Fallout 3.

So, what you think? Should Enclave workers wear T-51b or for example T-45d?

Well it depends which one you value more.

Fallout 3 lore > Fallout 2 lore
Fallout 3 lore = Fallout 2 lore
Fallout 3 lore < Fallout 2 lore

We could have them in but be rare; or you could say that technology was eradicated from the Enclave after the explosion?

Very possible but then again, where did the Enclave get all those power armors they're using now? They are post-war models while T-51b was obviously pre-war.

It never has worked. I just moved setstages around so that it doesn't continue until we get the doctor/scientist convo right. Go the "EMQ04Script" and get rid of all the semi-colons.
