And no I don't need a hug but Autumn could use one.

Hmmmm. >.>
*sidles up to Autumn*
I'm sorry I kind of ran off with the code and shot some of your men and told you to [censored] off and made Eden blow up your base and turned loose a giant nuke-tossing robot on the Purifier and and and... everything else I did.
*hugs*
*flees into the distance* D :

Actually this mod IS going somewhere. As the leader of this project (and this far the only modder of it) I am making progress albeit slow due to my limited modding skills.

I assume Bethesda uses c++ but I always found code easy to pick up, all you really need are the variable names and then just copy paste lines of code to be the way you want it

Oh really? Then you must be VERY eager to help with this project? I'd be deligted to give you the mod files, give you instructions and watch the grass grow.

I'd be delighted to but I have the xbox version. And is that sarcasm I detect there?

Not really. My message was mostly, "if you don't help, then what the hell are you complaining?".

I wasn't aiming to insult you. I apologize if I did and I do respect efforts to get my ass on working with this mod.

It's a shame if I've "changed" but sadly, some things do. I don't recall myself changing but it's possible and alas, I can't help it.

Again I'm sorry for my rude attitude. And while not derailing too much, what did you see me "do there"?

And I do remind that I'm looking for a canon-friendly solution to Vault 101 issue. How the situation starts, goes and ends.

Could you go into the 101 issue a bit more or tell me what page it's on

(And nevermind we both know what I meant)

Well.. I've stated it many times in multiple threads that the Enclave is generally hostile towards Vault Dwellers. Examples being Vault 13 where the Enclave eliminated unarmed, unhostile citizens, then forced them to move to Oil Rig for human testing (!). Second example is our favorite gal Amata, who is executed after revealing the location of Vault 101. However, we don't know why the Enclave wants in (likely because of James and Lone Wanderer came from there) nor we know if the execution of Amata was approved by Eden.

This leaves us two main scenarios:

1) The Enclave wants in in hopes to get information about James and the Lone Wanderer. When all necessary information is recieved, something happens. Either the Enclave massacres the Vault, or simply leaves.

2) The Enclave gets the information of the two renegade Dwellers, but then offers the vault dwellers a place in Raven Rock. Knowing the Enclave, those who say "no" are shot as traitors.

Well from past vaults I would expect an information hungry Eden to sen in troops to take everything valuable, kill everything inside and leave it there to face it's fate. They might go and do a megaton raid but seeing as they already have and eyebot probing around there it wouldn't be necessary. The vault would then become subject to breakins as wasteland try to scavenge for any leftovers then the brotherhood would go in for the same info Eden wanted then they would seal it and leave it there (maybe have a few stowaways get trapped)

With Eden issuing the original orders, would this mean some juicy moral choices? You know you're supposed to remove the Dwellers if they keep saying no but damn it, you completely fail to see why you should kill them? These guys just want to live in peace.

Okay.. I got our discussion about this saved in Notepad for further use.

For progress, I'm stuck at making the Autumn-James confrontation trigger. However, I can't test it since there is a hole between start and end. I'll start filling the mid-quest period now and ask professional help when I move forward.

The trigger you got to change the variables from the original code or you might have to change the 'player' skin and leave the code the same if you havnt already that'll make it run smoothly (hopefully)
Is the GECK a visual editor as well or just text?

GECK is visual but all scripting is just text.

I'll try to get it working and if I can't, I move on and let pros take care of that stuff when I can finally release pre-ALPHA.

Ok, are you doing a reskinned LW Or a whole new symbol? (you'll probally have to remove Madison lee from the code so just google for her object number)

Object numbers are all listed in GECK :)

For Li herself, I decided that she went to the Citadel to ask BoS for help. This removes her from boohoo'ing over James and also explains BoS invasion to the Purifier.

I haven't decided how LW would be, but I'm thinking that he is in the Rotunda with you watching the situation, but won't be hostile to you (nor you can't draw weapons while he's there) and runs away before you can move yourself.
You both seeing your dads die would give some spark to the final confortation in TEHL version of Take It Back!

Ahhh well if you reskin him for you're guy you'll have to do npc scripting for the LW but I you do it the other way youll have to do a
Lot of scripting but either way works

(and don't worry about earlier)

Not to add even more work to your plate, but will there be any new companions? Someone you know from the Enclave to join you in your adventures? I guess that's the sort of thing that isn't a priority right now, but it's something to think about in the future.

Also, I'm thinking that you might have to make a compatibility patch for Enclave Commander. I don't know how you're putting your mod together, obviously, but from what I know about EC, the soldiers you summon are automatically hostile to the Enclave faction. I added myself to the Enclave via the console to test it out, and they still fired on all Enclave soldiers on sight.

PS: For the love of Zeus, please make Doctor Li killable at some point.

Concerning the Vault and the Enclave:

I'd forgotten, but the game itself talks about how the Enclave will deal with Vault 101. The Overseer's terminal during the Trouble on the Homefront mission has an easily-missable file on it confirming that the Enclave has contacted the Overseer. They offered them amnesty and unity with the Enclave in exchange for equipment and data from the Vault's computers. The Overseer refused, on the grounds that this would violate the Vault-Tec experimental procedures he's following.

So, the Enclave wants something in the Vault. Also of note: they currently lack the time or the means to breach the Vault's door. One less thing to speculate about.
