President Eden- Enclave of the United States
Mr. Burke - Tenpenny TowerWhich point Mr. Burke, the point about making war on Rivet City, or the point about opposing the Enclave? Attacking Rivet City alone was a mad scheme Burke and by association you were close to declaring war on the Enclave. If your point was to prove that Autumn will jump to the opportunity to protect the Enclave's allies, then consider the point resolutely made.
Burke, surprised that Eden still hasn't seen his point, raises a questioning eyebrow towards the eyecam. "Mr. President, I'm not sure if your paying attention, but I stated before why I did what I did. I had to make the act convincing; As in, if I had complimented him while making declarations of war, I'm sure you would have caught on. Not what people usually do," Burke takes a huff of his smoke, "Just as well, I'll formally apologize to both the Abbey and Rivet City ambassadors," Burke motions to the other delegates, "My sincerest apologies, but you were simply allies, though unknowing allies to say the least, in my attempt to reveal the Colonel's true attitude. And now that you see he very well will make threats to protect the "Enclave's" interests, but I urge you all to think about this; How long will you remain Enclave interests before they declare you too unworthy of Enclave protection? Then, when they start launching bombing runs against you, you'll completely helpless because you thought that the Enclave would stay your allies forever for nothing in exchange,"
Ah yes "the people."
Tenpenny has certainly proved himself to be one with the wastelanders hasn't he? That's a rather bold claim to make that Tenpenny is able to represent the common man in the gutter. I'm sure a citizen of megaton who lives in the underground would be able to empathize with Tenpenny is his Ivory Tower.
"Tenpenny rose up from nothing to become the sole proprietor of a illustrious tower. If that doesn't show that the common man can grow into much more, then I'm sorry to say you are quite mistaken," Burke gazes to the representative from Megaton, "And I think our delegate here has made it quite obvious that he doesn't want to be under the boot of your so-called.. Overlords, was it? And I'm quite sure that the citizen of Megaton would rather empathize with a man he knows rose from nothing in the exact place he was, which gives Tenpenny the knowledge of how poor quality is in the wastes and what ways he can improve it, then some faceless Enclave of Pre-War America who grew up within enclosed, air-purified spaces. Because, of course, you know what the common man goes through, right Mr. President?"
And I'm sure violence isn't in your nature Burke, correct? I daresay the lady from the Abbey should look to your own threats made against her and her people.
Was it not you who threatened to, oh....what was it....
*the eyecam begins playing a recording and the voice of Burke comes from it*
"Your mouth continues to move, but yet I still don't seem to care. Do as you wish, Ms. Godwinson, but if you get involved in operations against Mr. Tenpenny and associate's, expect to be struck down like the rest of them."
*Eden's voice returns and continues in a sarcastic tone*
Oh but I'm sure this was all in the interest of peace Mr. Burke. All a terrible misunderstanding, of course.
"I have formally apologized to the dearest lady for my rude behavior earlier, and hope she accepts my apology out of goodwill," Burke states, turning towards the Abbey's delegate, "As a gesture of good faith, I give the Abbey full permission to set up a church within both the Tower of Tenpenny and Low-Town," Burke says with a generous smile. "However, while I'm sure the good church is above petty insults and can forgive them for a greater power, I don't believe you openly allow the slaughter of an entire compound full of hundreds of men, women, and perhaps even children. The destruction of the Citadel shows just how far the Enclave is willing to go, and their true motives for expelling anyone in their way,"
"Fell right into what dear Burke? The trap of offering to defend his allies when threats are made against them? That is certainly an interesting plan you have there. I'm sure Mr. Ganius did not appreciate your little act, nor do I believe he thinks you were "acting." All for the sake of doing what? Attempting to gain Rivet City as an ally against the Enclave?"
"You insult the man you are attempting to gain for a friend and then expect him to join with you? This is your way of diplomacy? You apparently have little in the way of subtlety Mr. Burke. "
Burke takes a huff of his smoke, then places it on the table and stands up, looking directly at the Eyecam. "Mr. President, you always seem to look past the obvious to find a way to find a way to make the Enclave look like the good guys. Your Colonel openly threatened bombing runs against an unmatched opponent when we did not submit to your will. Threats like that are not to be taken likely; And if they can be made to me, then whats to stop him from making the same threats towards you, Delegates, when you try to oppose the Enclave?" Burke turns toward Mr. Ganius. "I have already extended my formal apology, sir, and hope you accept it so that our two factions make continue to prosper on,"
"It would seem Mr. Burke is attempting to foil the path of progress, most unfortunate."
Burke shakes his head in disappointment. "No, Mr. President. It is not I trying to foil the path of progress; I am simply trying to continue the path of progress in a direct where the Enclave involvement is minimal. Because, as it seems you so desperately believe, the Enclave's path is not the ONLY path,"
Paladin Winter-BoS "The brotherhood wishes to withdraw from this area we see it as having no tactical advantage we will be withdrawing technology and information that is all, however we do wish for forms of transportation to be put at our availability".
Burke greets the Paladin with a friendly handshake as he enters the delegation chambers, nudging him to a seat next to Burke. "Ah, I am glad the Brotherhood has finally joined us. I apologize that we may not speak more at the moment, as me and the president are currently in a heated debate, but I assure you that your patience will be well rewarded," Burke takes his seat. "As for your men, I am sure we can work something out. I can provide full caravan transport, along with as many armed guards as you require, and full gallons of purified water, all the way back to the Mid-West. I can also offer the transfer of a large sum of caps so that you may begin rebuilding projects as soon as you arrive," Burke pauses. "Do these terms seem acceptable to you?"
