dike Whiskey-Megaton
What about just taking the material from Springvale and repurposing it for new buildings.

And perhaps the Enclave could help you if you would stop acting so rudely to them.
OOC: After he gets drunk he's supposed to talk in a polite british accent.

*gets slightly annoyed*
Can I have some of that whiskey Ashur?
*drinks*
Well, for one thing the raiders prevent us from doing just that. And our milita is overwhelmed by the many new recruits, Moriarity's black market and some guy trying to take over the caverns where we've been building more homes.
Also, as I said, We've run out of building materials. The domiciles we have secured have either been torn down just for that purpose or have people living in them.

And I'm sorry for my earlier rudeness. I was sober at the time.

Ishmael Ashur

2000 Feet above Washington DC

“We’re crossing over Washington now”, the pilot’s voice crackled in Ashur’s headset. “Beginning my descent now, ETA five minutes.”

As the Vertibird began to bank for it’s approach to Adams AFB, Ishmael Ashur looked out the window of the Vertibird at the city he’d set out for a lifetime ago and never dreamed he’d live to see. He could make out the National Mall, bookended between the imposing bulk of the US Capital to the West, and the Lincoln Memorial to the East, with the Washington monument in between. The Mall between the Washington Monument and the Capital was a maze of trenches and fortifications. Tiny black dots swarmed West towards the Capital building, then flashes and puffs of smoke began to erupt amongst them.

“Ants”, said Ashur wryly. “It’s like a war between two anthills.”

The Enclave officer sitting with him, Captain Williams, turned and looked for himself.

“Ah, yes”, said Williams. “Looks like the mutants are trying to take the Capital from Talon Company again. An ant war is a very apt metaphor, sir…you have two groups fighting for reasons they do not understand. County? Strategic advantage? No…merely because they are compelled to do so by instinct, and forces over which they have not control. Ants.”

Williams pointed at an object further North. Even though it was ruined, it’s shape made its identity obvious to a informed observer. Ashur’s eyes narrowed.

My God, Ewoyn, how could it come to this? All the years and lives we spent to get here just for you to end up losing everything to a Old World leftover.

“If you look there, you’ll see the Pentagon”, Williams continued, not noticing Ashur was lost in thought. “Elder Lyons and his followers had appropriated it as their base…they called it the ‘Citadel’. Regrettably, we were forced to destroy it to end the War…they simply refused to negotiate.”

“Out here”, Ashur said slowly, “things often don’t go as you’d like.”

“Erm….yeah, right”, Williams replied quizzically. The light above the cockpit suddenly changed from green to red, indicating passengers were to take their seats and belt up. Williams sat, and put his seat belt on.

Later

The jeep pulled up to the entrance of the Mobile crawler. As Ashur and the Pitt Raider he brought along as an aide, got out of the jeep the Enclave troopers guarding the entrance snapped to attention. Both Ashur and the aide wore Raider Iconoclast armor, Ashur carried his trusty .44 revolver, the aide carried a Infiltrator and a holo-recorder. After instructing the Sergeant of the Guard to inform the Colonel that Ashur had arrived, he led them inside the massive vehicle to the briefing area. Walking inside, Ashur took in his surroundings and noticed the colonel and several of the delegates had already arrived.

Glad I didn’t bring my power suit…though Sandra will need it more than I will if this is a trap of some kind, anyway.

After greeting the Colonel, and the other delegates present, and ordering a drink from one of the orderlies, Ashur took his seat and the aide stood behind him and turned on the recorder.

“In case you don’t know me”, said Ashur, “I am Ashur, Lord of the Pitt. I have come in response to the generous invitation of Colonel Autumn to discuss the future of the Capital Wasteland and it’s surrounding regions.”

A Enclave orderly brought Ashur his whiskey on the rocks. Noting with pleasure it was a quality brand…probably came from Ronto, he thought…he sipped at his drink and waited to see what the first topic of discussion would be.

*Miriam turned to Lord Ashur who recently arrived. You must be the leader of the Pitt. "I traveled through there when i was 21. I was charting locations and finding pre war books and knowledge. I saw those............things, deformed and mutated. I remember escaping from them and firing on them. Maybe the Abbey can help, i can send my doctors to find a cure for those things. Can we also set up a outpost there to help the people there. What do you call those.......things"?

Sebastian leans back in his seat and slowly begins tapping his two index fingers together. A few minutes later he leans forward seeming to have made up his mind. "Your terms are...satisfactory. Once I return a caravan will be outfitted with the required goods and be transported to a destination of your choosing once we've received the information."

Reaching into his coat pocket he produces a blank holo-tape which he uses to record the terms of the arrangement. After sitting the holo-tape aside he takes a long drink from his glass.

Ambassador Gomez; Vault 101

As both the Ambassador from The Vault One-Hundred-And-One, and its' Chief Of Security, I would like to re-extend the hand of friendship to The Government Of The United States Of America. A hand that has too long been found on the inside of a Vault, unable to find it's government.

We would like to hear of any assistance that would be needed by any party, so that we may all live in peace in a country better than the one that came before it.

And would it be too much of a bother to have a glass of Gin?

(As an aside to Ambassador Autumn) I do believe that our two peoples have something in common. Something that none of the other factions here have. I believe you know what I mean, so if you wish to utilise that, you need only ask, and we may start talks.

I believe we need to ask Vault 101 first.
Tearing down the houses would be quite difficult as it is inhabited by giant fire-breathing ants. We lost so many good men we couldn't lose... Colonizing it also doesn't work as the reason everybody is gathering here is that is it among the safest places in the wasteland.

What we need is new building materials and food.

OOC: In this, Megaton looks like a combination of these 3 mods:

Colonel Autumn- Enclave of the United States

*Autumn seems surprised at this*

Indeed, this is an interesting development. I am aware that a similar offer was sent to the Vault through our communication systems but the offer was apparently refused by the Overseer. Might I inquire as to the nature of this agreement and what you seek from us? Do you seek official reunification or aid?

A Robobrain will be out with your gin immediately.

Colonel Autumn- Enclave of the United States

*Autumn nods, and motions for the soldier to send out another Robobrain for Mr. LaCroix's water*

A well-intentioned proposition Mr. LaCroix. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology worked hand in hand with the Government on many projects during the pre-war years and was an example of a wealth of technological knowledge. The Enclave is pleased to see the Institute still remains and continues that tradition.

In terms of technology, what do you propose for the exchange?

Sebastian LaCroix - The Institute

"On our end a set of vertibird schematics or even just a vertibird would be most beneficial as our means of transportation are lacking. We could also begin working to construct our own fleet of craft. Also with the increasing number of raiders and malcontents attempting to assail our borders we require a better means of equipping our rather minuscule military forces. A few sets of power armor to outfit a squad or two will allow us to beat back the many hordes at our gates without great risk to our forces."

"In exchange I am not quite sure what exactly the Enclave requires. However we have much to offer should you relay your needs."

Colonel Autumn- Enclave of the United States

The offering of vertibird schematics Mr. LaCroix is I'm afraid out of the question. President Eden has ordered that I should not permit the Vertibird designs to be compromised in any manner as it is currrently our primary means of logistics and mobility. However, I would be happy to loan a small squadron of Vertibirds to the institute under the control of Enclave pilots for the purposes of further protection and transport.

I believe we could as well provide suits of Enclave APA MkII to some of your security detachments. If you wish to reverse-engineer these suits, I believe that would be acceptable considering the trust we have in you and your institution.

*Autumn sips from his scotch for a moment*

In exchange for these, the Enclave wishes to ask the Institute's aid in upgrading both our plasma-based weaponry, which I understand you have worked on doing, as well as possible means to upgrade the performance and production of the Enclave Robotic forces.

Would these be acceptable terms?

You seem surprised, Colonel. Our last Overseer was, how would you put it? Unpatriotic.

We now see the Enclave as our government.

We are not, however, blind to the fact that there has been over 200 years since we last had proper contact with you and as such we do not wish to run headlong into an agreement that would not benefit our peoples.

As you would know, we in the Vault have water purifiers, and food processors, and ample medicine. This we do not need more of. We have been having fewer children in the recent years, and so we have slight shortages in most of our departments. For instance, we have no doctor, since he left, looking for the Jefferson Memorial, and our robot does not exaclty.... fit the bill.

I do not believe that we desire official reunification, for the moment.

*Takes Gin offered by robobrain*

And what would you be looking for in a Vault, Colonel?

Good day to you Captain Kliesmann. I hear you are here from the Talon Comapny.

Mr. Gomez. Would it be too intrusive to ask you to allow some of the refugees into your vault? From what we've heard they can hold thousands.
Although I hope it's not like some of the other vaults around here. Rumors have it the Republic of Dave is under siege from a army of identical vault dwellers who can only say "Gary."

Mr. Burke - Tenpenny Tower

Burke glances around the room, noticing that a lot of attention is being focused on this "Mr. Whisky" character and his attempt to acquire materials for "Megaton". "Ah, Mr... Whiskey is it? I don't believe we've been acquainted. Mr. Burke,"

"Now, while I'm quite intrigued on what has become of your quaint little "spec" on our Horizon, I'll have to settle for wondering where you have the right to ask for building materials, as well as what you are willing to exchange for such materials, if anyone happens to have them?"

Burke glances at the Ambassador from the Vault. He makes note of his humble offering of peace and jumps at the opportunity.

"Ambassador, what a kind gesture you have propositioned. It just so happens that Mr. Tenpenny is in need of technicians with an expansive knowledge of pre-war technology, technology which is quite abundant in that vault of yours. We require their assistance for a.. Project we are working on. If you would be willing to part with a few of these technicians, we would be most grateful,"
