If your looking for lore on an elder scroll, your best bet is UESP. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Elder_Scrolls

No it isn't. That is your worst bet, including not trying.

That's not very nice. UESP works hard to have citations for everything, which leads to their lore being rather straightforward and direct. That doesn't mean they are wrong, just literal.
Being different does not mean they are wrong.

No, they tend to ignore the interesting sources for the generic fantasy vibe.

They don't exist, but have always existed, and are probably imperceptible to the gods because of that, or at minimum to Akatosh and Lorkhan, as they have no link to common space-time.
