I want to cry with joy. It's taking place in Skyrim AND dragons are back. ;~; It's like a dream come true.

Wow 180 users reading this topic.

The rest of the VGA's don't even matter to me anymore. Nothing will top Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. God, it feels great to type that!

I love you guys :hugs:

I missed it. What did they show?

You can catch the debut trailer http://www.gametrailers.com/video/vga-10-tba-game-2/708369.

Also: wild speculation commencing: I'm guessing there's probably no new game engine? Because it would take a bit longer to write up a new one. If we are still stuck with Gamebryo I hope there's some tweaks being done to eliminate things like the A-Bomb.

...also, evil dragons? Say what? :ahhh:

Meanwhile, wild hope commencing: Skyrim could be awesome. So long as we go with things like the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Thu%27um and other esoteric strangeness. In other words, please let it not be "generic English medieval fantasy: now with 150% more snow."

Sweet! I'll eat my hat, I was sure they were going to keep the tradition of website/GI cover announces. I was wrong.

I had to walk away from the ending cinematic (legion version) of Fallout New Vegas when my brother yelled "Holy $#!7, its Elder Scrolls". (fortunately I saved just before walking up to the cutscene trigger)

Also, F'yeah, Skyrim.

Well then... this is news.

So from what I can see in this trailer my honest reaction is:

YOU FAIL!

You descended into the very LOWEST of fantasy clichés by making a EVIL DRAGONS ARE ATTACKING plot, SERIOUSLY?
I never said it before but this makes it official, TES is dead.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is so surreal,I can't belivee it was finally annouced.I'am shaking (from being cold and excited)when I saw it on T.V.
Now when is the 2nd novel going to be announced is the question now and how does it tie into Skyrim?

P.S. It's hard to type from the excitement.

Sometimes I wish *I* were excitable. My entire reaction to seeing these threads was pretty much "huh, okay."

Wasn't there some commentary from something a while back about the gap between the announcement and release for Bethesda's next game being especially small? 11 months doesn't seem so short, but maybe it's because I never really keep track of that.

It's been in the TES canon since long before this. (Or so I've been informed, thanks to an off-hand mention here and my Google-fu.) http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Alduin#Alduin.

Anyone gonna make take a try at spelling out the name of the dragonborn? I couldn't tell what he/she was called.

So far we know:

-Obviously it's in Skyrim

-Akavir is probably going to be involved in it (or Alduin)

-I need new pants

Yes, Oblivion was released 18 months after announcement, so 11 months is much shorter.

It usually was 2 years man! Oblivion was announced in 2004 and released in 2006.

Hah, tell me about it. I am so excited, I am shaking, and my head hurts with the excitement;
