I think we can now say that, for today, the game is Elder Scrolls F5.

I'm pre-ordering the most ludicrously extravagant edition possible without question. Is it a rash decision? Yes. Am I doing it anyway. HELL YES!

I am going to do the same thing, money is not an object when it come to TES!

As much as I LOVE hearing this news, I'm also a bit sad because it'll be released for this generation of consoles. Which in turn affects PC gaming in a way because although we will have the mods to make the game look great later on, there will most likely be technical limitations set in place. I really hope not but we'll see I guess.

Did it look to anyone like there was a tree in the middle of the carving?

Yggdrasil was supposed to be the World Tree, or, as I believe The Chronicles of Narnia referenced it as, "The World Ash". As my experience with trees usually involves reducing them to 16 inch lengths small enough to be held one-handed by an end, I wonder if anyone can do some identification :D

11 months is the shortest time they've had between announcement and release... previously it was Oblivion with 18 months.

Tonight, I'm not really thinking deeply about it. My thoughts are purely "TES V OMG TES V OMG," and nothing short of announcing there will be machine guns in it will stop that happiness.

Though, signs point to a Game Informer cover next month so we'll likely get plenty of details, good or bad, when that's out.

As long as they're not a replacement-Daedra badguy, and as long as the plot isn't some ridiculous total war rehash, and as long as Skyrim actually has a culture, then I'll be happy.

I'm getting it in a few days.

Then I'm framing that [censored]. You understand me? FRAMING IT.

Newest issue of gameinformer, I mean.

I honestly don't think it's gonna be delayed, and I'm a hardcoe pessimist. They've already had more time to work on it than they had between Morrowind and Oblivion by far. And they've still got almost another year. Part of me says that the reason they waited so long to announce it was because they wanted to be able to release it on time and not show it prematurely.

Whoa! Followed (lurked) the speculation threads for quite a long time, hard to believe it's finally official. And it's set in Skyrim. And it's got dragons.

YES!

The way the date is announced in the trailer is pure awesome. I can't believe we didn't see it coming. I mean, Skyrim is a 6 letter word and 6 number dating is the most common.

Grand. Another night without sleep this way comes. Oh, and Max von Sydow kicks too much [censored].

Don't know if it's been said, yet, but methinks the dragons are deceptive: The baddies are already there, they've been defeated in the past, are in a position to take advantage of Tamriel's ruin, could have been acted against previously, and are a complete unknown of the series barring the lore. Is the chap in Blade's armour the hero? Or does he represent "them"?

Grasping at straws, I know, but still.. strokey beard.

Remember: "Tiber Septim, Talos, the Dragonborn, Heir to the Seat of Sundered Kings"

This could have something to do with Tiber Septim, or a new Dragonborn king.

The neverine was a dragon born and supposibly went to akaviri interesting no?

The Nerevarine was never a dragon born. If you really think so then give me a source.

hint: you wont find one

Clearly the power of the dragonborn keeps the forums sustained.
