I saw the Imperial symbol at the end. Skyrim is still a part of the empire after the Infernal City, right?

There's not much talk of Skyrim in the Infernal City, and it's not mentioned to have seceded, so I'd assume yes. (Which surprised me, actually. I thought for sure they'd be one of the first provinces to go.)

Cue "cliche" and "lore-breaking" complaints (not from me).

Not really, as long as the Dragons are from Akavir, it breaks no previous lore.

I missed the actual VGA announcement - did Todd say anything interesting, or was the bulk of it in the trailer?

1-Snowy mountains on the background
2-Foggy stage, a bunch of monks show up
3-Todd walks from behind the monks and show up
4-He announces TESV
5-Trailer plays

He said nothing interesting. But his appeareance was so friggin cool :celebration:

@Gabbo: yes he said dragonborn, but the rumour said Dragon Lord and not Dragonborn. ;)

It's going to be so good not to see those red words any more at the top of the speculation threads. :foodndrink:

He said something along the lines of "we've been waiting for the right time to announce our next project" (from my memory) and got swept out the door along with the game just like every other trailer there, as if it wasn't important. It went so quickly and so anti-climaticly. :(

This may be a dumb question, missed the announcement, but was it said about if it'll release on console and PC at the same time? I'd love to go PC but honestly at this point my PC won't be up to par. I do Oblivion on PC, but TESV is probably going to have to be Xbox for me.

You have 11 months to save money for a new computer. At least that's what I'm going to do (as my system dates back to the release of TES4) ;)

Well, dragons are part of TES lore, but they just seem to hide very well. Guess they got bored.

Am I alone in wishing TESV were set on the border between Valenwood and Elsweyr, and involved dealing with the politics/tensions between the Khajiit, Bosmer and Imga? It's depressing to think that I'll never see a sentient ape dressed like a 18th century Victorian gentleman holding its cape to its nose under the pretense that my player character stinks.

Someday we'll all get TES games set where we all want them... but now is the time for Skyrim!

I don't think we know for sure actually... but keep in mind that they got that symbol from Akavir.

He just talked about how Oblivion won awards a few years back and then Fallout 3. Then he just said that the team at Bethesda has been hard at work on their new project. Then the trailer.

By the way, what was with the dragon's breath? It looked like it was made of solid matter, not fire, and it only extended X amount of feet from its throat. Looked kind of World of Warcraft-y.

Now hold on a second guys. Remember the Eurogamer Denmark thing? A rumor stated that "TESV will be involve "Blades" and "Dragonborn"? It ended up being true?!

Holy Balls. They weren't bluffing.

It doesn't need to. It's the new game now, remember? :P

Oooh, it sounds it! Can't wait until it finds it's way onto youtube. The monks sound like a nice touch :) If the crowd didn't go bat[censored] crazy, then I am disappointed in them :P

Yay... Yet another CGI trailer to premiere a game...
Oh I'm so hyped...

Seriously I'm really excited for Skyrim and really happy for it to finally be confirmed, but TES or not it's a crap CGI trailer..
(I think all first trailers that are CGI are bad)

[edit]
The spoken lines were interesting though.

Is the Elder Scrolls website down from so much traffic, or are they updating it?

When do you guys think they'll show us some screen shots or gameplay?

Im wondering the same thing. Anybody got any idea?

What he did say was something along the lines of "We made Oblivion and Fallout 3, we've been hard at work for the past two years, we appreciate everyon's patience (I think he specifically mentioned the forums, but I was so dumbstruck by that point I can't remember what exactly he said), here is TESV Skyrim."

i'm pretty sure the whole thing was a sort of statue/stone carving coming to life. so the flames were made of stone :)

I thought the symbol came from a mix of Akatosh and the Amulet of Kings (hence the dragon and diamond).

Skyrim left the empire. Even Mede's spies fear that place.
