Whilst outside my character can move forward fine, but if I try to slide left or right or reverse I either don't or move VERY slowly - although running helps a bit. When inside dungeons or towns I don't have this problem and even when outside everything else, speed wise, is fine. Any thoughts?

Apparently max cycles was causing the problem- go figure.

In the DOSBox config file I use cycles=auto limit 30000 for Daggerfall. Works rather well for me
