The Elder Scrolls: Fallout

Post » Tue May 03, 2011 2:50 am

Ow, man! This game is really gonna look like Fallout, which I don't like. No attributes, less skills, no birthsigns, perks... And now we can choose which kills we want to improve after a level-up? Why is that? I want to train my skills, not get them suddenly.

I want an RPG menu, not simple and boring. I want to think and make decisions, that's what a good RPG does.

I can't get exited about the Fallout system. A level-up doesn't bother me.

no birthsigns

I'm pretty sure there are.

Edit, in a addition, they learnt a lot from fallout. A lot of those things worked well, why not port them over? I want a better game, not a game that sticks too close to tradition and therefore stagnates.

The perks in my opinion, will make levelling a lot more fun, especially since they're linked to skills, just thinking about the potential options excites me to a degree that some people might find scary.

Don't worry there will be plenty of robots and supermutants for everyone. :teehee:

SPECIAL are the attributes in Fallout. Sheesh....

The improve-by-what-you-actually-do system is still leaps and bounds away from the XP system that Fallout employs, so no, we're not seeing TES:V Fallout

Never mind the removal of attributes and birthsigns, and the picking of perks.

It's also worth noting that Fallout games were traditionally considered more RPG heavy than TES, prior to Beth's takeover (which put them more on par); so 'more like Fallout' really ought to mean 'more RPGy'. :P

I don't agree with everything he said, but barring some errors, he assessment of the changes seem pretty on target.

Fallout had attributes (SPECIAL), and had a good amount of skills; Arena and Daggerfall didn't have birthsigns; it has already said that perks aren't going to be the same as Fallout; and you can't choose which skills to improve on a level up (the perks connected to the skills will not just give a +X to the skill).

Plus there are fewer robots in Tamriel.

I at least hope they finally add guns. Like muskets and old fashion revolvers.

Fallout was an amazing game...I mean, I'm not saying I want The Elder Scrolls to look anything like Fallout, but still.

The game takes things from Fallout, it's logical. Bethesda has made Fallout 3 and they have learnt thing from the experience. Why not include things that would work (they're not including everything, you know)? One more thing: maybe it doesn't appeal to you, but it does to a lot of people. Different people, different tastes.

Please play Fallout 1 or 2.

They are more of an RPG than any elder scrolls entry ever was.

And you're saying Fallout is bad? I think you should draw more comparisons to ME2 if complaining about streamlining, great game but it's barely an RPG.

You obviously haven't read all the info properly. I'm getting a little tired of the moaners. And you ARE training your skills. :shakehead:
