The Elder Scrolls Languages

Post » Mon Jul 21, 2014 2:34 pm

Now I know there are many languages within the realm of the elder scrolls and many more are still to come I am sure, but I am having a problem with the languages and trying to work out words, phrases, and such.

I have made many character journals based on Oblivion and Skyrim and have also done one or two stories as well, however these journals and stories have been short and I decided to challenge myself further.

I have decided to write a new story, but make it as close to following the realms of the elder scrolls as possible. I have done much research and made notes on many things for my characters and with what will happen through the story, however I am a little stuck with the fact about the different languages. With my new story I also want to use the different languages with talks through the story and to make it more interesting, but cannot really find a lot on the languages.

I know you can find certain phrases and such, but the main point of this topic is whether or not there are actual dictionaries based on all the languages used in the elder scrolls..

Could people please post theories and any information on any and all languages that are within the elder scrolls please. This would be a great help in the story I am writing.

The language of the Ashlanders is clearly Akkadian, as shown by such names as "Assurdan" and "Sargon."
