The Elder Scrolls in Skyrim

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:19 am

Admittedly, I haven't been following Skyrim as much I should be. Has it been confirmed whether the Elder Scrolls will play a part in Skyrim? It seems that Skyrim's main quest is pretty epic, what with the previous games' events each having contributed to this large event. When was the last time the Elder Scrolls were actually part of the games? I never played Arena, and I don't recall them being in Daggerfall. If at any point the Elder Scrolls play a part, would now not be the best time? What do you guys think?

I don't mean anny offence by this...but its like asking if Fallout will have radiation.

yes, TES will play a huge part. We may never see one, but they play a big part none the less.

Are you talking about the physical, written scrolls or just the prophecies in general? If the former, I doubt anything like that will be involved.

I don't think they have. But it seems like it would make sense, seeing as how this could lead to another world-shattering event like another Dragonbreak or something.

Yes, the title of the series is "The Elder Scrolls", but I meant "Do you think the Scrolls will be included as a plot device?"

Physically? Probably not. But the teaser thing talks of them. We'll probably just get stuck with the wall. As for the golden claw, I'm clueless.

The Elder Scrolls are what trigger the plots in the first place. Without them there would be no main quest...

"...The Elder Scrolls told of their return..."

I think what was said in the announcement trailer covers this nicely. The coming of the dragons was foretold in the Elder Scrolls.

I was going to say...

Just because they aren't physically in the games (except the one in Oblivion), doesn't mean they are irrelevant to the storyline - they ARE the storyline.

As I said, I was talking about their inclusion as a plot device. Of course the Elder Scrolls predict the storyline, they predict everything.

Oh, you meant the actual physical representations of the Elder Scrolls? Not sure. I'd imagine they're all still locked up tight and guarded in White Gold Tower.

Obviously since the Scrolls told of the 5 events that would happen in order, DUH!
