The Elder Scrolls 6 - The Land of Simple

Post » Sat Dec 17, 2011 12:41 pm

Before you read this, you should know that if you dont dig deap and see what I am trying to get at then your the reason why im posting this. Bethesda is catering to you, the casual gamer, the mass, the majority and its somewhat saddening. Keep in mind though that I love many aspects of skyrim and am thoroughly impressed with what has been created, but sometimes, as much as people hate this cliche, its the little things that count

Welcome to elder scrolls 6! This time around we want to bring things down to an understandable and use-able system. To do so, we are introducing our 2 spells in the game: FIRE AND ICE. Theres no need to clutter a mages abilities with interesting spells to learn and use.

And for alchemy OH BOY we have got something in store for you! There are over 5000 types of plant and ingredients for you to harvest and use to make potions! And they all have to same effect so you never have to wonder what potion you want to make! Everyone loves damage magic regen!!!

And weve been telling you that the skills and things you do will level as you use them! BUT WE WERE JUST LYING! you have to assign stupid points to only 1 thing! so if you were using you alchemy skill and smithing in the same level then you can only choose to master one of those! ITS ALL ABOUT SIMPLIFYING! people are stupid and hate making choices so weve made them for you!!!

In elderscrolls 6 the game pretty much plays itself! We hope you enjoy and continue to pay a premium to be [censored] on!

Honestly your intro just seems like a token effort intended to deflect the inevitable criticism of the bilious tripe you posted afterwards.

Sounds to me like you are the one who needs to dig "deap", as you say, if thats what you are getting out of Skyrim.

completely wrong

ES6 will be called TES arena of death

you have been captured and made to fight in an arena

after many long battles you free yourself and escape through a door marked "EXIT"
roll credits

oh and it will be written for the nintendo ds...but fear not..it will be ported to console and pc afterwards.

Yeah, apparently I've been a casual gamer since AD&D 2nd Edition. I fact I have a suit but I only wear it about once a year, and never for gaming.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but what the bloody hell is a casual gamer?

If an electrician only works one day a week, is he a casual electrician? If I'm the Prime minister, and I only make one public appearance a month, am I a Casual PM?

But really, you're just spouting out what everyone (the majority, in your terms the "mass") on the internet is saying about everything lately. Everything is now dumb, everything is now not as good as it was, everything is not as good as it was when I was ten years old, everything is lacking creatively.

You're the problem with the gaming culture, you and everyone else who uses terms like "Dumbed down", "Simplified". What, did you have to be in Mensa to play Morrowind now?

I guess the streamlining is bad, but whats worse is the fact you felt the need to post something like this. Yeah, we get it, people are unhappy with the reduction of certain elements of the game. Its a different game than MW, OB, Daggerfall etc no one remembers Oblivion for its art direction and no on remembers MW for its beautiful vistas and great animations. Get over it.

Yeah, bring back lobbing blobs of a variety of colors and having hundreds of different ways to affect stats! Always rewarding not seeing that -20 agility on the enemy, but you know it's there! So complex and subtle.
And of course, skills are all we need, don't need any damnable ways of differentiating high level characters, we're supposed to become masters of all trades!

Elder Scrolls 6: Arena 2.0

Screw it. You people kept complaining too much. We decided to retrace our steps and start back at square-one. Hopefully with this release, you'll appreciate the work we actually put into our games and not complain about menial changes that, in the end, have no effect on how you play a game that gives you so many choices and opportunities in a massive, open-world game.

That or we can just give you an on-rails adventure game where you have no choice at all. We can even give it an ending to make you whiners cry more.

But we're more than content to give you Arena 2.0. If you're not happy with that, than you can go [censored] yourselves.

They couldn't have made it simpler... It's all CoD's fault... All CoD's fault.... Lol kinda is though. Bethesda noticed what CoD did and did the same, let the game play itself like in MW3's campaign I can't remember playing it myself only cheesy cut scenes!!! lol, but there are things they coulda done for instance only making Main Quest characters unkillable instead of stupid random Argonians I randomly found out in the wild but instead making other NPC's that they want you to get side quests from respawn a certain amount of hours after death like Sven and then I could play the Companions guild questline!!! Oh well, I still love the game but hate some decisions that they made...
