I for myself dont accept it, because the "revoultion" is much too fast.

Why should a civil war start 200 years in Skyrim, when there are civil wars all over tamriel?
I think that book cant be part of the lore when it describes this situation.

Why wouldn't it? It would be stupid to spend money on the two books and then completely disregarding it.

It's already been recognised as official Lore, anyway.

Well, the books are published under The Elder Scrolls name, so that's your proof.

Bethesda contracted Greg Keyes to write the two TES books, one of which is coming in September. The books are TES canon, whether you like it or not

And for your knowledge of lore, it isn't neutral, it's not complete. It also has been hinted that Morrowind would go boom since TES III: Morrowind. Also, the empire just crumbled. The Oblivion Crisis truly was a Crisis that caused a lot of damage across the continent, and with the emperor dead and no one to really hold onto power, it fell. The only thing that's somewhat bringing it back is Titus Mede, but he only has Cyrodiil. There was no revolution, [censored] just went bad quickly. Not to mention most of the other countries were only part of the empire in-name only, were too rowdy and respected only power, or hates humans.

40ish years is enough time for things to just fall apart.

So what's your problem with it? The Dunmer forgot love so the Ministry of Truth fell and Red Mountain exploded. Then the Argonians moved in and kicked their asses for enslaving their race. I like the Dunmer too, but they had all of that coming.

Just out of curiosity OP, where are you from? When I came into this topic I expected Roman=Latin-speaking Imperialists, not Roman=Novel.

In any case, I should think that the burden of proof regarding the canonicity of the books should fall to you, as there have been no public statements which officially redact their lore.

Also the Revolution in Skyrim doesn't come from the books, that's arriving in the titular game itself.

In Dutch novel is translated as roman.. (when I read TES Roman in the forum i actually directly thought about the novel... not the romans.)
