The Elves of Ice

Post » Fri Jul 16, 2010 12:05 am

While playing Oblivion I encountered a book that told of a different race of elves, indigineous to Skyrim, or at least they lived in Skyrim befor the Nords took over. Anyway this race of Elves or this Elf that the book told about, The Ice Prince, was extremly powerful and had a sheen of like frozen aura around his skin and his eyes were different. He devastated the war loving Nords in one of their wars so bad that at the end of the book the Nords, war mongers, prayed to NEVER meet his kind again. I was just wondering since this games in Skyrim would we beable to be this type of Elf or become one? It would be great if we could.

Yes, they're called Falmer. Search and you'll find many topics on them.

The Ice Prince. I found his tomb in Bloodmoon. I wasn't impressed with his armor.

Falmer...

Extinct, sadly.

And it's already confirmed that only the 10 races from Oblivion will be playable.

I hope we never see them. They're more ubsecure than the Dwemer. Practically nothing exists of them, other than a few books and artifacts. And I love that.

Yes...I alway did want a Fuzzy Snow Elf.
It would be nice if they would at least add in an old Falmer Ruin for us to
explore for the sake of Lore

I wish that the falmer were a playable race. They seemed like a very cool race no pun intended. But I'm sure someone will mod them in.

Even if we can't play as the Falmer it would be cool to find some of their ruins and artifacts, find some of their long dead skeltons even some undead Falmer. even the possibility of finding an orb which contains the last message of the Falmer before they vanished it could speak to you obviously you couldn't speak back or ask questions. It would just be cool is all.

I would be disappointed if there wasn't at least one location relating to them, but I doubt we'll find a living Falmer. Actually, for those of you that played Honest Hearts, something like how they handled Randall Clark would be cool for the Falmer (trying not to give any spoilers away).

I would like to see the last living falmer. If there is such a thing I hope he or she is similar to Yagrum Bagarn.

There use to be this really obscure race of elves living here, but you've probably never heard of it. :geek:

Maybe extinct; maybe not. We'll see.

This will mirror what I will say in the Falmer thread, but I too hope to find some small remnant of them, in some remote ruin. As they are not playable, I would expect and be fine with the Devs just tinkering with one of the other Elf races (most likely Altmer or Dunmer) until they get a distinctive look (one still achievable by the player if they play around in the customization on another Elven sub-species enough) say white or pale blue hair and skin etc.

I thought it unfortunate that we ran into none of the Aylieds in Oblivion. . . or maybe we did and didn't know it, though I don't recall many distinctly wild Elves. According to lore they would be paler than dunmer, but darker than the Altmer (and possibly taller?). They Aylieds, despite what some have said, are not extinct, they merely became wild or merged into Altmer and Bosmer populations.
