The Empire's Future?

I have a feeling that Cyrodiil, High Rock, and Hammerfell will stay allied with each other. The Skyrim-Morrowind wars will be just like it was around the time of Nerevar (minus the dwemer). Elswyr will take southern nibenay. Blackmarsh and Summerset Isle will each cecede from the Empire. And Valenwood and Elswyr will have border conflicts.

Two theories I posted in an earlier thread on possible continued lineage of the Dragon Blood:

Now that the "official" branch of the Septim bloodline is spent, I have considered two potential heirs:

Hjalti Early-Beard & His Descendants
According to The Arcturian Heresy, Tiber Septim was a Nord by the name of Hjalti Early-Beard. It is possible that he may have descendants up in Skyrim who can trace their ties to Tiber Septim, if this claim is indeed true. If it isn't, well, it may still be worth looking into if the Empire has no other good leads.

King Lysandus & His Son King Gothryd
King Lysandus died before the events of Daggerfall. However, one of the Underking's agents during the Main Quest says, "not even death can hide a true descendant of Tiber Septim from the Underking". This refers to Lysandus. Now, it may just have some other metaphorical meaning, but I doubt it, seeing how the Underking was (at least partially) Zurin Arctus, Tiber Septim's Imperial Battlemage. I doubt he would have reason to lie about this sort of thing. Who knows? Maybe Tiber Septim had a bastard child, whose descendants fathered Lysandus - a child whom only Tiber Septim's closest allies, including Zurin, would know of.

King Lysandus' bloodline lives on through his son, King Gothryd of Daggerfall. At the time of the writing of the 3rd Edition Pocket Guide to the Empire, I believe it makes a remark somewhere that him and his spouse, Queen Aubk-i, are still alive and beloved in their kingdom.

I posted this in suggestions for TES V

start
The empire was essentially almost broken at the end of oblivion. Even now its on the edge of a knife I think. There is no heir or Emperor and its now ruled by the council who have no experience of how to rule without an Emperor. This is how the story could be more intresting in my opinion.

After Martin well.... um died is closest, the council squabbled over who should be Emperor until anger over disagreements overcame them and they declared all themselves as Emperor. Naturally there was war and the factions fought a long and bitter one. Now one hundred years later The cities outside of the Imperial city are either destroyed or are very damaged shadows of what they once were from the many battles. The remains of the imperial city is split into sections belonging to the remaing four factions. Its no longer a full scale war anymore but a stalemate because of the lack of money, resources and men available to fight.
end

I think this scenario would be better than the way it was in oblivion. This way the elder scrolls could return to almost a traditional RPG world. In oblivion there were imperial guards wandering the roads on horses. To me the world felt way too controlled and under the lock and key of the empire. You could roam free now and have a real evil character without hearing "stop criminal scum!" all the time. It would be like fallout 3's system of law enforcement.

i think they will be governed as normal, just by some other relative of the Septims. after hundreds of years, the whole line couldn't have been killed, that would be hundreds, if not thousands, of people dead. So the Empire would just be ruled by a cousin, uncle, aunt, or nephew of Martin.

I think thew empire will eventually break up into different sections and eventually war will break out.

I assume no mods have been on this topic, due to the fact there's still a Nazi reference?

Moderator: Closed, not for that, but for thread necromancy.
