The Empire is law

Rather unrelated, but it begs the question: Was the Cyrodiil of Alessia and Marukh considered an Empire, or is it just considered one to apologetically round out the history of Reman and Septim?

Ottomans loved their ships.

I'm not sure, but I suspect that they did did not expand beyond Cyrodiil, or at least not to the extent of the Reman or Septim empires.

Charlemagne conquered France and called it an Empire.

Checked it. United Nibenany was called an Empire, and Colovia was soon added.

It is necessary to distinguish some people name countries and a real state of affairs. I can name my cat a lion, but it will not be the truth.

Marukh was said to have expanded most of Tamriel, or that's probably just propaganda from the 1st PGE. I don't know, enlighten me.

There was also the Adabal-a calling the old Ayleid rule imperatum saliache, but that's probably just too far away from Tamriel's Empire.

Although its pretty obvious, we do know that Morrowind was never under Imperial rule before the Septim empire.

Wasn't Morrowind part of the First Empire of the Nords? (founded by Ysgramor)

Yes, the Nords did once rule Morrowind, before Veloth led the Chimer there. That's when they built that funeral boat below that underground maze.

This qoute from PGE 1, seems to indicate that the Chimer were alreader living in Morrowind, when the Nords invaded.

When first we hear of the Dark Elves, they were divided into numerous petty clans, half of whom were at war with the other half at any given moment. The Nord Sagas speak of Dark Elven warriors pledging themselves to any Nord chieftain who went to war with their clan enemies, a circumstance which undoubtedly facilitated their Conquest by the Nords. The Dark Elves appear in the written record in 1E416, during the War of Succession which destroyed the First Empire of the Nords: "And seeing that the Nords were divided, and weak, the Dunmer took counsel among themselves, and gathered together in their secret places, and plotted against the kinsmen of Borgas, and suddenly arose, and fell upon the Nords, and drove them from the land of Dunmereth with great slaughter." Thus ended the First Empire of men, at the hands of the Dark Elves.

Oblivion:
Empire is Law! Law is Sacred!

Unbroken line of kings!

Emperor Uri looks quite good for an eighty-seven-year-old!

The economy is booming! Even bandits have [censored]in' get-ups!

All the other Provinces are [censored] up, but they aren't here, so it's okay!!

Future is bright!! Long live the Empire!!

...

OMG DAEDRA :obliviongate:
Keep in mind that there hasn't strictly been a unified Septim Empire since the days of its founder, and Uriel VII was seen as the last great hope for the Imperium.

This makes me think about the concept of truth in The Empire, or more generally in the Elder Scrolls series, (mainly influenced by me having read 1984 fairly recently), if all written sources agree that there has always been a unified septim Empire does this mean it is true (think dragon break ) and think manually altering sources. Makes me also think about V'Vehk and them being gods or just powerfull mer who tell tales about their accension.

anyway i'm just spamming my toughts, hopefully someone will understand what i'm trying to get at and we can have a nice discussion about this.

This excerpts from the http://www.imperial-library.info/history/1.shtml on TIL says the same:

1E 240
During the reign of King Vrage, Skyrim extends its wings. To the east, the Velothi area - which the Nord often calls Dwemereth (or, more recently, Dunmereth), now known as Morrowind - is the land of the established Dwemer and nomadic Chimer. This conquest is one of the epic clashes of the First Era.
[...]
Within a span of fifty years, Skyrim rules all of northern Tamriel, including most of present-day High Rock, a deep stretch of the Nibenay Valley, and the whole of Morrowind. This is known as The First Empire of the Nords.

The authenticity of that statement is put into question as they mention Dunmer in the first empire of the Nords. Dunmer, Dark Elves. Problem of course being that, the Chimer not Dunmer. And they explicitly mention Dunmer, which don't um... exist yet.

The Nords invaded to try and reclaim Morrowind. The invasion caused the Chimer and Dwemer to unite, and Nerevar and Dumac became friends.

The answer on which it would be not necessary to respond, but I will respond: it will mew and will fall asleep. What is the question, is that also the answer.

The answer is: http://www.imperial-library.info/obbooks/mysterious_akavir.shtml

Basically I said the same thing as Paw-Prints but in an unnecessarily cryptic way.

So , what is the future of empire? How do you think?
1. It will become republic.
2. There will be a new line of emperors.
Or it will be another variant of developments?

I think that the Empire will most likely collapse. I think it is time for something new.

The Empire becoming a republic is not very likely, since most races currently seem to want to regain their independence.

Exactly what provinces are trying to gain independence?

All and none at the same time. It's all going to be chaotic anyway.

Seems to me most races want everyone else not to regain independence. Thing is, Cyrodiil is the heart of the heart of the world. If the Septim line falls, another Cyrodiilic empire will take it's place. A new Cyrodiilic empire for a new kalpa. Think about it. 1st age - the Alessians, 2nd age - Reman 3rd Age - Septim.

4th age will be ruled by a Cyrodiilic empire as well, I'm sure. It may have something to with the many times the Cyrodiil have broken the Dragon, and became gods.

Then again, the Elves might get their way too.......... which would be MUCH more interesting. Gods can lose favor, AND power.

The elves are losing more and more power. Even the High Elves are going through revolution to be more like humans (the Beautiful) and the Bosmer are becoming more and more feral. The Dunmer are more similar to men than their fellow mer. The last hope for the mer is a return of the Ayleids, and that will be another revolution from Cyrodiil. And the Aedra are all Cyrodiil, the emporer became a god and achieved CHIM, and the latest of the line became a Avatar of the most powerful Akatosh, and Cyrodiil's champion mantled the other side of the coin and became Lorkhan. Cyrodiil is the heart of the Mundus which is the center of the wheel of Aurbis.

Even if Cyrodiil loses power now, they will regain it.
