[RELz] The Enclave Commander mod v 0.75, Thread III

Post » Sat Apr 02, 2011 12:00 am

Lima is the military term for the letter "L" (the reason for this is because, in the heat of battle, a lot of letters sound the same, like "b, c, d, e" so they use codewords so the message is clear.)

Right on. It's the NATO alphabet. And this mod looks better and better. If you DO add airplanes like those seen on Rivet City's flight deck, you should use my airfield idea. :P

nix....

You said that it appeared after v 0.5 ?

Yea I had the someposes mod installed before hand, I just through the v8 in because that is the latest version that I have when I copied the file name for posting.

@Col. Ivan Noble, so you don't have the mod installed and its doing what has been described? Sounds like what they need is an animation reset when they get lost... But then again what the heck do I know :D

This is by far one of the most exciting and well developed mods out so far.

However, once it gets integrated with the other Enclave mod, will there be a quest associated with it in order to get this Commander status? It would be AWESOME if there was a really hard quest chain you had to complete in order to achieve this status, as it seems like once you get the control of the enclave soldiers, the game looses much of it's challenge. (Although, it would be very fun assaulting different bases with these soldiers).

Thanks, great work so far!

I know they're working on a quest. I don't know if you need to do it to reach commander.

From what I've heard, you work on rebuilding the Enclave presence in the Capital Wasteland and move up the ranks, gaining more with each rank.

Hmm.. Different clothing for each rank? I've been doing it where I've made it so I only use a certain number of squads, and everytime I take over a huge place (Like paradise falls or the capitol building) I put on a newer suit (Enclave Officer and the other stuff from Links mod) and let myself use more squads.

I, myself, really appreciated how this mod let you alter what kinds of soldiers you command, as it felt more immersive for me to be playing my hardcoe Brotherhood of Steel character. I do hope that if there is a base and all that follows, that there would still be wiggle room for you to conceivably be a Brotherhood of Steel/Outcast commander.

Um, yeah. Like that kinda thing. I hope that later editions don't make the mod out to be geared towards Enclave, or at the very least I hope the option to make the soldier types other than Enclave persists.

Well I know that, just don't get why it's called "Lima base". Are the Enclave really giant lima beans?

Lima base is Lucids workname for the base.... It will probably be changed.

If you DO add airplanes like those seen on Rivet City's flight deck, you should use my airfield idea. :P

I know how to add animated airplanes.... but I can't find a model that would look good (the airplanes doesn't look so flyable and I don't know how to fix them up)

I know they're working on a quest. I don't know if you need to do it to reach commander.

You won't need to work all the way up to commander rank. But the squad cap and what kind of troops you have access to will change when you advance in ranks.

From what I've heard, you work on rebuilding the Enclave presence in the Capital Wasteland and move up the ranks, gaining more with each rank.

Yep.

I'm not so sure about the whole rebuild part... I don't want this mod to grow to big and thus become impossible to complete and then die.

You should try and find a modeler. The planes, if I remember correctly, have their wings folded up for storage on Rivet's deck, right? So all a modeler would have to do is open up the wings. At least, I think. I'm no expert.

Yeah Editing them planes is very easy, at least for me it is, except I can't export.

@J3X; This is to funny man and I dono if its a bug or intentional. When I was at the mall with 19 Enclave followers I let each of them secure the area with the marker and about 2 minutes after I released every follower to patrol, the BoS from the Washington Monument started opening fire on a few of the enclaves, which then lead the other Enclave and BoS to open fire. Man it was a brawl that lasted at least 3 minutes. It was so much fun to watch and I was wondering if this is a bug or intentional?

Did you happen to have a sentry bot? I think they may still be bugged so that they attack anything on sight, friend or foe

I noticed a similar aggression from Outcasts, usually after they've killed whatever else they're fighting they'll turn on my soldiers and become hostile towards me, as well. It may have been that the Outcasts got caught in crossfire from my soldiers, but I'm not sure.

If you use the "Keep this area clear" feature the soldiers will clear the area from npcs. It was no bug.

Probably.

Quick question... If I "park" my enclave support team in an area by telling them to keep it clear (or another command that will keep them from following me), how long do the soldiers persist in that cell? If I leave them in an area, will they survive the standard 3-day cell reset and be there waiting for me when I return?

I have not messed with the mod much and if this info is in the docs, I apologize for not digging it up before posting.

I wish my computer were more powerful.
With Enclave Commander, Buidable Bots, Robco Certified AND having all available followers, with Phalanx installed... I see a massive support army for BoS & Liberty Prime's assault on the Purifier. :D :D :D. Can you say 3-4 FPS?...

Yes, if it all work will they stand and guard that area forever. The only thing that can stop them is death.... or you!

Will we be able to do something with prisoners in future versions?

Perhaps taking them to a base or something...?

Great mod man, keep up the good work!!!

Yes. v 0.73 have these features: execute (awesome!), confiscate belongings, transport to base (atm they do not get transported to base, only a "prisoners taken" counter will rise) & release.

Anyone got some moar ideas of what you can do with slaves? :D

Force them to fight for you? But still always have the option to execute them if you get tired of them.

Having a prison in the Enclave base would be pretty sweet. I think unique NPC's should be all grouped in a special cell where you can talk to them and get them to join you or whatever, while Raiders and other captured guys should be 'held', but you don't have a way of interacting with them directly after the order is given to bring them back to base. Wouldn't it be sweet if you could hold Tribunals for guys like Burke and Tenpenny, then execute them for their crimes against the Wasteland?

It would give me a chance to be the judge, jury, and executioner.
