ooc: I'm really looking forward to how Tim is gonna find the group, Uglius. ^_^
Also, no reaction from the kitty hug, Iris and Miranie?
ic: As they approached Bruma, Karst was lagging behind a bit, holding a single septim in her previously injured hand and staring at it intently.
C'mon, move, explode, do something
dammit! she thought in frustration. She knew her mom had the gift, and so had all the female Zeterras before, but Karst couldn't seem to put hers to use. After another couple minutes, she gave up.
I can't even move a [censored] coin.. I'm a disgrace to the family.Zant came up behind her just as she growled at the coin an clenched her fist shut around it, letting out a sigh in a puff of mist. "Whatcha got there?"
"Stupid coin." she muttered.
"Stupid? What's wrong with it?"
"Won't move." she replied, her voice informatively deadpan and obviously annoyed. Zant laughed.
"Is it
supposed to?"
Karst sighed again. "I'm
trying to use whatever inherited powers I've got to move it, as practice. I wanna be able to use my abilities; I think I might need them. It.. I don't know how to do it, though. I've tried imagining it moving, willing it to move, all sorts of things. Damn thing won't budge." Karst shivered a little and pulled her coat closer around herself. After a moment, she let off a series of sneezes and sighed miserably. "And to make things worse, I think I'm getting sick. Mom's pendant doesn't protect from pneumonia and colds I don't think. Just serious diseases. I'll have to see if Odeen'll let me use his alchemy gear to make myself some medicine."
Zan'Tarre made a thoughtful sound at all of this and began taking off his cuirass. Karst looked over at him as he did so, puzzled. When he was done, he stuffed the iron plating into his already overflowing shoulderbag. Karst finally had to ask.
"What'd you take your armor off for? Uncomfortable?"
The larger Khajiit shook his head and stepped up next to her, pulling her into as good a hug was was possible while walking. "No, so I could hug you to keep you warm." Karst purred softly as she was embraced and returned the gesture, shivering in her sibling's arms. Zant rubbed her shoulders and channeled a very weak fire spell into her body, mostly sending it into her chest and torso where her vitals were. She slowly stopped shivering and closed her eyes. "I don't know what happened to you that made you lose it, but I'm willing to help however I can."
"I can't tell you, really. I.. It's complicated and dangerous and there's not much you can do besides just comfort me." Karst said softly, enjoying the magickal warmth surging into her chest and guts. Zant sighed audibly and Karst could feel his annoyance. "I'm sorry.." she added in response.
Zant pulled her head closer and rubbed her hair affectionately. "No, it's okay, sis. I just.. If someone's threatening you or something.. I can take care of them, you know?"
"No, you can't." Karst's voice was soft and resigned. "There's hundreds, maybe thousands of them. They live in every province of Tamriel. Unless one of their figureheads can be killed, it's hopeless."
And as far as I know, Sithis doesn't have a body, the Night Mother is a mystery and even if they were
killable, they'd be heavily guarded. I wonder if there's anywhere safe from the Brotherhood's ears and eyes where I could tell the group?"Well.." Zant's voice snapped Karst from her thoughts, "I'm willing to help if you know where said heads are."
"I.. I don't. And don't talk so loud. They could be listening." Karst whispered urgently.
"Out here? You're kidding right?"
"No, I'm not. It's a damn nightmare. The bastards are everywhere and nowhere.." she hissed back. Zant was beginning to wonder if these 'people' were just in her head. After all, she had shown signs of being highly delusional lately. He decided to go along with her for now, though.
"Okay, calm down, sis. I think what you need right now is a hot meal and cup of tea and a good, long nap, though." Karst nodded into Zant's chest and purred a little louder for a moment at the thought of good, hot food and tea in her stomach and a soft, warm bed next to a fire.
"Sounds like heaven.." she whispered longingly.
