Prologue
This is the tale of a simple Knight by the name of Theo, he was fortunately one of the few men to be posted out of the Citadel reguarly. He always hated this prospect, as he was tired of fighting the Mutants everyday of his life, until one day, when he thanked his lucky stars that he'd always been posted out of the Citadel. It all started on that one day in the year 2277... The year of many trials, triumphs and failures.
Theo trudged his way after his superior, Paladin Jake, who never really liked anyone in his squad. Surprisingly, even with the superior tech and power of the Brotherhood, the whole squad except for Theo and Jake had been decimated by a small group of Super Mutants. Theo was of course the hero, but Jake never showed any emotion, always keeping Theo in the dark, never congratulating him. As they made their way through the ruins of a small building, they saw the Citadel, gleaming in their view.
Jake stopped and leaned against a wall, this was the closest thing Theo would ever get to an order for rest, he walked over to a wall far away from his superior, sitting down. Once again, Theo thanked his lucky stars for his hatred for his superior, for this was the one unlucky day for everyone else. Theo was looking down at himself, wondering once again what he'd done to annoy his superior so much, he looked up at the exact right moment, just in time to see his superior die.
A shot rang out through the barren land, a bullet sped towards the Paladin before he could so much as flinch, his head came clean off, blood spurting all over the walls and even over Theo who was 6 metres away. Theo's eyes bulged, but right as he thought his luck had run out, he realised it was very far off, as the day was only going to get worse. He heard a sound, that he couldn't quite recognise as anything similar, he ran towards the window, looking at the gleaming husk that was the Pentagon, which was now the Citadel.
He looked right above the beautiful structure, there, flying down towards the building, were multiple missles, they crashed into the centre of the Bailey. He heard the impact and felt the shockwaves fly across the ground, across the water, he flew into a wall, as soon as he made contact with the stone he lost conciousness. His last thought was this, Why did this happen? Why now? Why did we ever trust him...
