The End: Will you die?

Post » Fri Mar 11, 2016 8:52 am

So my character has a disease acquired from somewhere (no spoilers here) and it is now my permanent companion. Is there a possibility that in the final DLC for FO4 we are treated to a storyline (optional choice maybe) to have our character die as a martyr or infamous hero, etc.. for the greater good? Something along these lines.

Would you like to see a DLC which would give you the option to "END" your character in game with some really dramatic music and cut scenes montaged? Maybe an ending showing all of your choices in the game and explaining the future as in FO3 & FNV did. Would it make it more memorable for you?

That disease doesn't advance or anything like that, and not everyone gets it in the first place (some people also use the serum to cure themselves). An ending involving this disease would rely on having it in the first place, so I can't really see them involving it in any DLC.

Personally I wouldn't like an ending resulting in my death. The way it was done in FO3 just struck me as really bad. I thought it was a horrible ending. I can pop a million Rad-X's and go in wearing a radiation suit, but still die of radiation exposure? That ending just didn't work for me. It felt forced. I'm glad that this ending was fixed with Broken Steel. In general, I just don't like games that end. At least not with RPGs.

"Heaven's Not Enough"

heaven's not enough,

if when you get there...

just another blue.

and heaven's not enough,

you think you've found it

and it loses you.

you've thought of all there is

but not enough,

and it loses you in a cloud.

"there", most everything is nothing'

that it seems,

"where" you see the things you only wanna see.

I'd fly away

to a higher plane,

to say words I resist.

to float away,

to sigh,

to breathe... forget.

and heaven's not enough,

if when I'm there I don't remember you.

and heaven does enough,

you think you know it

and it uses you.

I saw so many things,

but like a dream...

always losing me in a cloud.

'cause I couldn't cry,

'cause I turned away,

couldn't see the score.

didn't know the pain

of leaving yesterday really far behind;

in another life,

in another dream,

by a different name.

gave it all away

for a memory

and a quiet life...

and I felt the face

of a cold tonight,

still don't know the score.

but I know the pain

of leaving everything really far behind.

and if I could cry,

and if I could live what truth I did then take me there...

heaven goodbye...

Last words from a lost generation. How sad and tragic.

Hope not, we've done that already in F3 wich was then changed in a DLC. One of the F4's selling points for me was its the ability to conitnue forever, I'd feel it'd be a waste of all those hours spent building settlements.

In any case I wouldnt sacrifice myself, let the commonwealth fend for itself I've dont enough (-;

That song was an example of that kind of mentality you as put on your character,no matter which way he take you want to die as a hero or villain.

I think I'm okay without dying. I got the disease, and I got a -1 in a stat. -makes the whoop de doo hand gesture-

Spoiler
It's kind of a leap in logic to get bitten by an infected molerat and then go into martyrdom and tragedy

Wait, they did this....

Remember?

Fallout 3 pre-Broken Steel. You had to sacrifice yourself to turn on the giant Brita Filter. Remember how that turned out?

Spoiler
It's contracted during the Vault 81...89?...Quest, where you have to find a vaccine for a kid, and there's really only enough of a dose for one of you, if I recall right

Spoiler
It's a disease that you get if you got hit by a Molerat in Vault 81 during the "Hole in the Wall" quest. You only get one opportunity to cure it and if you don't you're stuck with it for the rest of the game. The quest is quite buggy and you'll get it if companions or the Protectron in the area get hit as well.

That being said, it's not really that awful. It reduces your max HP by 10 and that's all it does.
