The Escape

(Well Rockland Rescue had died even though I tried to keep it going but none of the members are actually posting in the RP anymore so I decided to make an RP out of an idea somebody gave me a long time ago.)

T H E...E S C A P E

2289. Detroit.

The Arena
The Arena that the men inhabited was once a place where local wrestling matches would take place, it was not that big but big enough to fill 100 people. The Arena had a backstage, the snack bar, and the main arena. The backstage was turned into a prison like setting and each room was given a bed for the contestants to sleep. The snack room was built into a common room for contestants to walk around and socialize with each other. And the main arena is where the cage is and where people are allowed to be seated.

The Game

The Fight for Freedom is a simple idea, you have to fight against other people kidnapped from the wastes and whoever is last alive gets sent out into the wasteland to live there life. Once you are in the cage there are no rules.

The Story

A man known as Mordecai Jones was one of the many men who were screwed over in a mission six months ago. Mordecai along with six others were betrayed by a mob boss who was just starting business in Detroit, the mob boss told these six men that they would have to take down a group of men in a warehouse and when Mordecai and the others arrived they were ambushed by the mob bosses men, the group had no idea why this happened. Only two men were killed and the other four managed to escape, along with Mordecai. They men who managed to escape all took refuge in an old arena that seemed to have nothing but a few radroaches wandering around. Mordecai not wanting to take this betrayal told the men of an idea, the idea being to fix up this arena and use the steel cage that was in the center of it as a battle grounds, and soon Mordecai and the others were plotting a sick game for revenge. Mordecai and his men decided to take revenge against the mob boss who betrayed him and the mob bosses closest men, so they began to plan a game where they would pit one of them against the other, forcing two people who were long time friends to kill each other for survival. They eventually named the game, The Fight for Freedom. Within a few weeks they had kidnapped the mobsters and forced them to fight against each other in the fight of freedom and in two months a mobster had been last alive and were sent out into the wasteland. After they finished what they had done to the mobsters one of the men suggested to make a living off of this by charging people caps to see the battle, Mordecai also thought this was a good idea and decided to go along with it, so they kidnapped another batch of people and put them in the fight for freedom. Eventually this became very popular and people were paying 50 caps to see, and within a few months the men who started it where rich.

A few years passed after this and you are one of the new contestants, you have no idea how you got here all you know is the rules of the game and what you must do. But while in the common room a man told you of his plan, a plan to escape. You agreed but you were told that there is a lot of work involved and that you will not be getting out soon.

Why did they decide to build a stadium? Just to kidnap people and force them to fight each other? That doesn't seem very logical.

They built it so people could watch it; they make people pay ten caps to view each fight so they make money off of it.

But like this:

2269, a group of men living in Detroit begin to build a stadium

That seems overly vague, was it like a bunch of guy's who were survivors of a nuclear war who are struggling for survival just like "Hey, let's get a bunch of people, build a really big stadium, and even though there isn't anybody alive for hundreds of miles, have people fight in it and sell tickets!"

Well, I guess. But there really is no other reason anybody would do that, it is sort of like the Pitt.

That's like the oldest concept known to man, almost as old as prostitution.

Pretty sure it was in one of the Mad Max movies...perhaps Thunder Dome? That was sarcasm, it was Thunder Dome.

Good idea incidentally. It's one of the oldest concepts because it is essentially human. We like to fight, we like to see others fight, therefore..

Well no, because located in The Pitt were hundreds of warring raiders, and Ashur united them and created infrastructure, economy, and a military, you said that a bunch of guys got together and built a stadium where they would sell tickets so people could see other people fight each other.

No, I do not mean like that I mean the battle they had in that Pit.

I didn't mean the Thunderdome mention as a knock at your idea. It's practically a universal theme, like Romeo and Juliet, only with more guys stabbing each other.

I think you have the basis for a good RP, you'd need to flesh out the owners motivations and how they built it and whatnot...but it could be interesting. Would fit in rather well in New Vegas too...Caesar's Legion...The Collosieum...just saying

What?

Well it is a good idea, but just bad execution, you can't just say that a bunch of guys got together an built a stadium, who, what, where, when, why, how.

How about I just say that they took over an arena instead of built one.

Do that...but also flesh out "a bunch of guys"

Are they ex-mercs or ex-soldiers or good old boys with guns....slavers maybe....a ultra right wing government....enclave knock off (have the contaminated fight to the death for their entertainment)

Some kinda of identity for them. Is the stadium one of the many bad things about these guys....or are they generally good guys except that they like watching folks kill each other...

are the people slaves or do they enter freely? are they prisoners? if so prisoners or prisoners of war?

etc. etc.

You just need detail, people in the wasteland wouldn't just build a stadium so they can make money, they have more important things to worry about. Maybe it's a mob boss that has taken over the city or something?

I like it, but I also think there should be a tad bit more story to you know so the logic would be right. WHy would they snatch people up? Are they slavers or Raiders watching for entertainment

and not seeing Mad Max is a SIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
