Seems that Valve's announcement made an impact.

Difference is down to 800 votes.

I had to log in using Facebook to vote. Hungry Donner you were replying to my Morrowind/Daggerfall post.

Valve are still over Bethesda by more than 1,000 votes though.

I made a twitter account for the extra vote, just because I like how Valve conducts business and would like to see them supported so they choose to continue these practices. It's actually very quick and painless, so I'd advise others to do the same.

Well it's practically 50-50 again. Hopefully we don't see another wave of Zynga voters come in. <_<

As of right now, Valve is down only 100 votes, and Steam appears to be absolutely dominating Zynga on Twitter (twitter votes are tallied later).

EDIT: Valve just took the lead.

And Valve's lead is still growing, they're up by almost 300 votes, with 50.5% of the total.

They're winning by about 140...
If we can keep this close to Zynga, Valve should win this. It seems a ton of people have been voting via twitter which aren't added to the total until the end.

I really hope Bioware wins, they are one of my favourite game developers.

I just voted for Valve, I hope they win!

Hopefully Valve can continue gaining votes until it ends on Sunday.

If Valve wins it will be a huge success for all core gamers.

Sadly if Zynga is in the competition next year this will all be repeated again.

I'm a bit surprised also. I'm wondering where the hordes of WoW players are.
There's still a couple days left of voting though.

To anyone who has twitter and hasn't voted with it:
-Link the twitter to the profile you've created here on the escapist! (profile>edit profile>add your twitter towards bottom)
-In twitter, follow @TheEscapistMag ! (go to http://twitter.com/TheEscapistMag, click the gear icon on the right, and click 'follow')
-Tweet this:(write this in the blank box, then press tweet) "I voted for @steam_games in Round 5 of The Escapist's March Mayhem: http://bit.ly/aANIUR #escMM." (yes, steam *underscore* games)

I think Valve has a chance now. If there are enough second votes, I think they'll be able to just pull ahead. It's amazing that there are now 14, 000 votes. Did it get to this amount last year?

Too bad Bethesda went down. But amazing they got so far, given that Bungie or something didn't make it all that way. Anyways, I voted for Bioware, and I can
t say I like Zynga or Valve either, so I refrained.

Valve will only get a vote from me once they stop messing around in their pool of money and actually give me HL2: Ep3 :stare:

I just realised Valve already won the round against Bethesda.

Why the hell was Zynga put into this competition? Isn't it obvious that the casual gamers and mums from Facebook will outnumber everyone else.

I actually made a Twitter account, something I swore I'd never do, just to vote for Valve. That is how much I want them to beat Zynga.

We're losing by something like 2500 votes at the moment though, so things aren't looking that good. A jihad on Zynga!

I can't believe valve is losing to a facebook app flash game developer, this is so wrong.
