The eternal champion

I know why the eternal champion is known by many faces and nobody knows who he really is look at this dialouge from arena. " i have tried to obscure your identity with a spell, but i do not know how well it will hide you. take care for tharn may be searching." ria silmane tells you this when she sends you off for fang lair. This dialouge would explain why nobody really knows the true face of the eternal champion. It explains why in every book or interview that they mention the eternal champion why his real identity is unknown. And sorry if this has already been stated. I just found it interesting to have a lore reason why nobody knows who he is.

'Where'd they go?' is only six threads down...

Yes, that would explain why nobody recognizes him. A wizard did it.

It seems to me that the line was probably just added to adress the possible threat of being discovered by Tharn, seeing as Bethesda may not have been sure if the game would get the sequel or not at the time (After all, there was no guarentee the game would be successful enough to warrant it.) and probably wasn't doing much to accomodate for keepingt the hero's identity vague in later games, still it might explain it. On the other hand, I suspect the spell was only temporary to keep the Eternal Champion from being discovered, and it would be lifted once it was no longer needed, after all, people being permanently unable to recognize you would probably be rather unpleasant, and likely isn't something someone who was trying to help you would want to inflict upon you.

so it lasted only a short while but netherless it obscured his identity to all that meet him during that time so this explains why so many people remember him as different people. I remember one in character interview to where i think it was jobasha didn't know the race or anything about the eternal champion and nobody does. even thought it was made at the time with no sequals in mind it still fulfills the requirments of obscureing the hero from the public. I like how i can actually have a lore reason now why he isn't well known. and before you say it would be public knowledge afther he rescued the empeor appearnetly he didn't go public with his identity so this explains it at least to me.

The Eternal Champion lived for 10 years with a masked identity? That would be horrible.

P.S. I have a thread for this not too far away.
