Does that ray gun you can buy from that little kid Max outside of Nick and Rays do anything? I saved and bought it and i can't figure out what kind of ammo it uses if it works at all.

Here's my issue, I got the Euclid's C-Finder, but I did the mission for Helios One some missions before I got the Euclid's C-Finder. I noticed the ARCHMEDES was disarmed, so I armed it, nothing. I resetted the controls before I entered the observation tower, nothing. I've waited 4+ days for this gun to get charged ammo, nothing. I didn't even do the ammo glitch. Am I screwed having this 15kg paperweight? Any Ideas on what I need to do, I'm extremely far in the game and would not like to restart it all over again.

Two things,
First once you finish Lucky Old Sun you can't go back and reroute power, I've checked. You an activate the defense system but that doesn't reroute power to the weapon for use with the ranger finder. Just kills everyone outside. Second, its a useless weapon anyway. The skill book you can get out of the quest if far more valuable.

You have to activate ARCHMEDES II.

ARCHMEDES has nothing to do with the Euclid C Finder.

Ok, I did activate ARCHMEDES II and it did kill the NCR in Helios One, missions before I got Euclid C Finder (how I know, Legion took over Helios One). i even got the Achievement for that mission Lucky Old Sun. Nothing. So, I'm guessing basically it won't work unless I restart the game.

It's not that great really.. I rarely ever use it.. like when I'm trying to find an amusing way to assassinate President Kimball.. assuming I don't feel like doing the good ol C4-helmet trick.

That's ARCHMEDES ONE that killed the NCR.

ARCHMEDES II will not work unless it is triggered with the Euclid C Finder. The Euclid C Finder will not work unless the power at Helios One is set to option 4. The other option settings, 1,2,3, and 5, send the Helios One power not to ARCHMEDES II, but to Vegas, Freeside, McCarren, and/or Westside.
