C'mon, we're not supposed to discuss Real-life evolution.
Cyrodiil also had the Rumare Slaughterfish variants and the Giant Slaughterfish.

Same model. I could have counted Old Blue Fin and other unique Morrowind slaughterfishes, but it's pointless. I counted the numbers of different models, because it is the true variety.

It doesn't matter the model, Cyrodiil still has a number of different slaughterfish.

By this token, I can whip up in two minutes a mod that will bring seven hundred species of giraffes to Morrowind. They'll all use the Nix Hound model, but you said yourself the model doesn't matter.

The Giant Slaughterfish, although it uses the same model, is more different from the normal slaughterfish than the small slaughterfish variant. I don't even know why they bothered to make another model for a small slaughterfish. And the Rumare Slaugherfishes' scales are different from normal slaughterfish scales.

No it's not. Unless the scale difference is really massive, you don't even notice it.

For variety.

And the Rumare Slaugherfishes' scales are different from normal slaughterfish scales.

A scale difference is meaningless. The different scales is just a gameplay thingie for that quest. The Rumare Slaughterfish disappear once you've gathered 12 scales...

I can do the same thing in my Giraffe mod. I can give them each a different type a giraffe meat. Easy-peasy. They'll all be exactly the same as far as their attribute, model, icon, effects, etc. are concerned but they'll be different. Bleeergh.

The instruction to refrain from discussion of real-world evolution remains. Real-world Darwinian evolution takes on a religious cast for too many people and simply cannot be discussed without infringing the rule against religious discussion. Posts discussing it will be deleted without further notice.

It is really massive.

As for the Rumare Slaughterfish, it is implied that their scales have properties that other slaughterfish scales don't have.

And Small Slaughterfish are still just slaughterfish, only slightly different looking. Its no more variety than the different levelled Rumare Slaughterfish varieties.

Thread closed for cause. The moderators are not going to tolerate sniping over evolution. Read and follow the rules if you do not want action taken against your account.
