Juhanor - Caravan Campsite

As he sat at the campfire, Juhanor noticed the only female member of the group, an intelligent-looking young Dark Elf approach the campfire. "Hey there," she said, "I hear you're going to look for food? I could help if you want. My name's Sora, in case you didn't already know." Sora, eh? Juhanor thought, A fitting name for a lady like her.

Meanwhile, the other members of the group had started to express interest in going on a hunt.

Damn, looks like this group might actually be able to work together, despite our quite obvious differences... Juhanor thought to himself, Although it appears that some of them might have trouble getting along with Cordus.

Juhanor stood up and stretched. "Alright, guys, I think we should get about this, then. Night is falling quickly, and we could always use more supplies. How about we split into two groups, so as to cover more ground? Hjolifur, being a Nord, you should probably lead one group; I wouldn't mind leading the other, if only for my natural night time talents and if none of us object, that is. Hjolifur, you should take Nathaniel and Sora; I will Trannigan and Cordus.

"This one heard some wolves to the east, earlier; there might be some game, that way, especially if wolves are in that direction."

Waiting for a reply, Juhanor glanced over at Cordus who had excitedly loaded his crossbow in preparation of the hunt. "Don't worry, bro," Juhanor said with a laugh, "this one doesn't think that any of us want to eat a spider any time soon."

Marcus, Orlando's servant quietly approached the group who were discussing the hunt. A Khajiit seemed taking charge of organising the hunt. When he was sure the Khajiit had finished speaking, Marcus stepped forward.

"Ahem" The group looked towards him, "My master, Orlando Wrex wonders if you would care to join him for his evening meal tonight. We will be serving venison stew and I assure you it is plentiful as it is delicious. So come, warm yourselves by our fire, warm your stomachs with our food and warm your souls with our companionship! We welcome you all. Saying that, my master told me to inform you that you are to feel no way obliged. If it is your wish to hunt for your own food, my master accepts and completely understands."

With that, Marcus bowed slightly and turned sharply on his heal and made his way to help with the food preparations.

Hjolifur laughed at Marcus. It was impolite, and Hjolifur tried to control it, but he couldn't. The thought of a servant on such a trip as this was too funny.

"Tell me, good sir, when we are deep in Saarthal with no reliable source of food, won't you want your venison then? Here, in the forests, i dare say both hunting parties will return with food this very night. and enough food to keep some and travel with it. Your venison might serve as a mighty meal now, when you don't need it, but when yo do need it it'll be gone. However, the natural mammoth meat one of us might score could feed the caravan for days without wasting your supply."

Further, WHAT THE [NUMMIT] will 'orlando wrex' do when he is being chased by an ice wraith? send his servants to take it's jacket? Hjolifur e managed to contain to a thought.

"So, Nathaniel and Sora, follow me. i'm sure you know how to hunt but you both are wearing swords so i'm just going to make sure. We'll just cover our sent and set up a few Tiger blinds. Food is useless if you spend all the energy you get from eating it before you get a chance too. It might seem lazy but when push comes to shove you don't want to end up chasing a Mammoth for hours.

Also, I might shout to attract animals. Just don't stand in front of me. You two should build a blind together an'd i'll make one for myself, but only once we've gone away from all these people."

Hjolifur's real intention of separating himself from the young people was to not stop any romanic feelings from developing. And with Sora's assets (at least in Hjolifur's mind) that was likely.

"Sora, was it? I must say, you are quite possibly the most beautiful Dunmer I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Cordus Leon, bard and adventurer extraordinaire, at your service." Sora turned to find the Imperial performing a small bow, with an enormous grin spread across his face. She raised an eyebrow at him. He was gorgeous of course; his eyes sparkling from the light of the fire, as the wind lightly tossed his snow-flecked blonde hair. Sora wasn't going to fall for it.

"That's lovely Cordus," Sora said, "But I hope you know how to use that crossbow, because I don't think you'll be able to charm your dinner onto your plate." She put on an sweet smile, and turned back to the group. Juhanor, the Khajiit, had suggested that she go with Hjolifur and Nathaniel. She was pleased that she was going with the Nord, as he seemed trustworthy and down-to-earth, however the Imperial seemed rather unenthusiatic. The others would go with Juhanor.

It was then that a man called Marcus stepped forward, and offered them dinner with his "Master", Orlando Wrex. Sora suppressed a laugh, thinking how stupid it was that someone had brought sevants with them. What a waste of space, she thought, I hope this Orlando guy realises that we're not off to have tea and scones with the King. Hjolifur made a good point about the venison, before turning to Sora and Nathaniel.

You two should build a blind together an'd i'll make one for myself, but only once we've gone away from all these people." Sora didn't quite understand what these "Tiger Blinds" were.

"Uh, Tiger Blinds, Hjolifur?" Sora said, as she strapped on her dagger next to her longsword, "I'm not quite sure what you mean by that."

OOC: http://www.reelfootcustomcamo.com/deer%20blind.jpg. A blind is anything that is put inbetween where the animal will hopefully be and you, and if is like for camo. I changed it to "tiger" because according to GI skyrim has saber-toothed tigers.

IC: Hjolifur responded with something simialer to "Sticks and moss and snow piled up to stop an animal from seeing you."

Hjolifer definatley continued with, "Unless you want to see me Thu'um a blink."

Trannigan noticed a man who looked to be a servant walk up to the group then, he listened as the servant spoke of his masters offer of a feast for tonight and was about to speak up when he heard Hjolifur's stifled laughs. He listened as Hjolifur said all that to the servant then Trannigan looked the servant in the eyes. "Tell your master thanks, but I will politely decline. I have already had my meal for the night and I am helping with the hunt to relieve myself of bordem aswell as try to increase our chance of success as much as possible."

He then turned back to his new comrades and listened as Juhanor and Hjolifur suggested they split up into teams. *A very wise decision.* Trannigan thought to himself. He then heard that Nathanial and Hjolifur should travel with Sora. *Damn...* he quickly thought again.

"...And Trannigan and Cordus will come with me." Said Juhanor then. *DAMNIT!!!* he screamed to himself in his thoughts. Trannigan let out a quiet sigh and quiet sigh and continued to himself *Ah well... It's not as if the kid is completely hopeless, just too talkitive for my taste. I just hope he can stifle his words until after the hunt...

Pulling his longsword from the sheath he looked Juhanor in the eyes. "I'm ready to head out whenever you are."

Juhanor - Campsite

"Alright, Trannigan, Cordus. This one thinks we should head east; as I stated earlier, the wolves in that location probably signify some sort of large game," Juhanor began, "but we should be careful not to disturb anything that will find us to be the game, eh?"

Juhanor loosened the straps on his kukri knives, and directed his attention to Trannigan: "Trannigan, you should stay on my right; Cordus, you get my left. Given my night time abilities, I will lead the way, if that is okay."

Looking over his shoulder, Juhanor called out to Hjolifur, Nathaniel, and Sora: "Let's meet back here before morning!"

"Alright, guys, lets get moving."

"That's lovely Cordus. But I hope you know how to use that crossbow, because I don't think you'll be able to charm your dinner onto your plate." Cordus's smile melted off his face at these words, as the beautiful young Dunmer resist his charms and walk away. But the break in grins was only temporary, as a small smile came with the thoughts, Oh well. Plenty of fish in the sea. Or wolves in the forest. Wasn't that hot, anyways. Almost immediatly after thinking this, Cordus noticed a new man approaching. He introduced himself as Marcus, and made a small speech about his master (Something Rex) and how he had plenty of food available. Cordus laughed aloud, especially after hearing the Nord make several good points about food conservation. The servant walked off, and so did the Nord, Sora, and the less-heavily-armed Imperial, spliting up from the rest of the group to hunt for food of their own.

Cordus gestured to the leaving servant and whispered to no one in particular, "I thought that we were adventurers here, not nobles. Is he going to go into the ruins with us? He'll just be a waste of space." Without hearing him, Trannigan drew his blade and said that he was ready to leave for the hunt. Juhanor said he was ready too, and asked Cordus to take his left side, so he moved into position and said, "I'm ready. Let's do this!" With that, Cordus rested his crossbow on one shoulder with his right hand and prepared to move out. However, before he left he picked up his lute with his free hand and said, "Hey, do you guys want me to play us a little hunting song?"

Trannigan gripped his left hand tighter around the handle of his sword and grinned. "Right." He nodded in acknowledgement then stood on Juhanors right side like he was asked. He stared straight ahead at his path, waiting to hear that everyone is ready and that they could head out.

He snapped out of his concentration when he heard Cordus ask if they would like him to play hunting songs for them. he glanced over at Cordus, still with a grin, and replied. "Nah, save it for when we return with our victorious hunt. There will be plenty of time for celebrating then.

PLEEEAAAAASE dont play that when we are out in the middle of the hunt... he thought to himself then.

Juhanor - Campsite

"Hey, do you guys want me to play us a little hunting song?" Cordus asked the group.

Juhanor slowly turned his attention to Cordus. Did he really just ask us that? Juhanor thought to himself, A hunting song? Juhanor's hands slowly moved towards his throwing knives, with an unconscious lust for blood. Specifically, Cordus' blood.

OOC: Joking

IC:

"Hell yah, Cordus," Juhanor screamed, "Maybe your screeching and annoying personality traits will attract us a pack of Cliff Racers to kill."

OOC: Joking again.

"Seriously, though," Juhanor put on a stoic face, "Sure, why not? Might as well lighten the mood a little bit."

Trannigan, meanwhile, had moved up to Juhanor's right, and was staring blankly ahead. "Hey, Trannigan, we are moving out; Cordus, play your song now, before we head out to hunt."

Cordus's smile slowly slid off his face as he saw Juhanor reach for his throwing knives and yell, "Hell yah, Cordus. Maybe your screeching and annoying personality traits will attract us a pack of Cliff Racers to kill." He calmed down and said, "Seriously, though. Sure, why not? Might as well lighten the mood a little bit. Hey, Trannigan, we are moving out; Cordus, play your song now, before we head out to hunt." Cordus was a bit apprehensive about playing, especially after Juhanor's hostile response, but he played a catchy tune that went with a song he knew about an Argonian hunter. He would've sung the song as well, but he was still slightly offended about the comment about his 'screeching'.

"Okay, there we go, hunting song done." Cordus said quickly as he tossed his lute back onto the pile of his stuff sitting by the campfire. "Let's roll. And, uh, are there actually Cliffracers in Skyrim? 'Cause those things are pretty freaky if you're not expecting them." Cordus made this little joke, but his smile was now nonexsistant. He had his serious, game-time face on now.

Juhanor - Campsite

"What a good song, Cordus," Juhanor said jovially, "and, no, I doubt that there any Cliff Racers in Skyrim."

The kid has talent, Juhanor thought, too much talent... Juhanor's hands slowly reached for his knives again. No, better stop joking around and focus.

Juhanor stretched once more, then quickly peered into the night. "Alright, guys, lets get moving... Juhanor thinks he can smell something up ahead."

Juhanor, with Cordus' tune stuck in his head, started to make his way into the brush. Turning around, he noticed Cordus' lack of a smile. Maybe I offended him with my joke, Juhanor thought, Well, I will just have to make it up to him as we go, I suppose.

Inhaling deeply, Juhanor picked up faint traces of prey. "Hey, guys, this way!" With that, Juhanor eagerly pranced ahead, then awaited Trannigan and Cordus to catch up.

"Hey, guys, this way!" Juhanor shouted from up ahead.

"We're right behind ya!" Trannigan shouted back, trying to keep pace with the agile Khajiit. He kept pace up with Cordus and got a little closer to him then shouted. "That was a nice song ya played earlier cordus." he said with a warm smile. "You are quite a talented bard, have ya been playing long?" Trannigan gave another quick glance over to Cordus while asking him that then looked back at Juhanor to make sure he stayed within eyesite so that Trannigan would not end up getting left behind.

Cordus heard Juhanor call for him and Trannigan from the path he was travelling along. Trannigan shouted back, "We're right behind ya!", then complemented Cordus's playing abilities. "Have ya been playing long?" he asked, glancing over at Cordus.

Cordus smiled at the friendliness he was being shown in response to his music. See, music DOES bring people together! he thought happily. Cordus responded, "Thanks, dude. Its always nice to have my music complemented. And, yeah, I've been playing for a while. I got my first lute at," Cordus broke off to dodge under a branch and to keep eyes on Juhanor, then continued, "11, I think. I really got serious around 13, and officially started travelling as a bard at 16. So I've been playing for over half my life." Cordus pushed through more bushes, then looked over to Trannigan and said, "And what about you? You got any cool hobbies or talents?"

Juhanor - In The Forest

Looking behind, Juhanor noticed Trannigan and Cordus trying to maintain a level of speed similar to his. Ah, better slow down Juhanor thought, hunting always makes me rush, though. Lowering his pace, Juhanor waited until Trannigan and Cordus had caught up. As the group ran along, the scent of something... deer, perhaps, tickled Juhanor's nose holes.

Rushing along the ground, Juhanor led the three to a thicket of trees that surrounded a snowy clearing. Crouching in the bushes, Juhanor motioned for the other two to do the same.

"Alright, here is what Juhanor smells," Juhanor whispered, "right now, we are downwind of what smells like a herd of deer... they should move through this clearing in a very short amount of time. Any suggestions on how to kill them?"

"No problem." said Trannigan, ducking under a few branches himself. He listened as Cordus spoke a little about his childhood until his voice cut off. Trannigan looked back to see Cordus skillfully duck under a low hanging branch before continuing on. Trannigan smiled and thought Not too shabby, he seems to have some skill I'll give him that.

When Cordus asked Trannigan about his own childhood Trannigan replied "I too grew up in Cyrodiil, in Bravil city. We werent poor or anything, my father just happened to work in that chapter of the Fighters Guild. My mother was a Breton but only occassionaly visited the Mages guild there. Instead she stayed home most of the time and taught me many things. Both of my parents taught me many useful things, they were both very bright..." He smiled at the memory then continued on "I left home when I was 17, I wanted to live the life of an adventurer so here I am... perhaps later tonight or tomorrow I will tell ya more but for now we should focus on our current task."

"Alright, here is what Juhanor smells," Juhanor whispered, "right now, we are downwind of what smells like a herd of deer... they should move through this clearing in a very short amount of time. Any suggestions on how to kill them?"

Perhaps I could fire a shock bolt at one like I suggested earlier, then either you or Corvus could quickly swoop in and finish it off." He quickly whispered, peering through the clearing in anticipation for the deer to come bolting by. He unclenched his right hand and started letting the magical sparks barely build up, not overdoing it until they agreed it could be a helpful idea,

Xa-Raku - Campsite

Having trudged on foot with the caravan, Xa-Raku was too cold to feel like talking. His feet were numb and his breath was only slightly steamy - meaning that his body temperature was beginning to match the environment. He wasted no time in sitting down to the fireplace with the others, eager to bask in its warmth. The journey so far had been rather pleasant, it was only in the last day or so that the weather had become so fickle. Xa-Raku couldn't even shiver; that was a mechanism reserved for warm-bloods. All he could do was sit and flex his extremities, keeping them from getting frostbitten.

Most of the group had decided on going to hunt, but Xa-Raku already had food and was in no position to do anything that required fast movement at the moment. He would be better suited to defending the camp against intruders, in any event. His metabolism was shot, and he was hungry. Roasting some meat he had stored with him on the fireplace, he had a warm meal, which helped. Xa-Raku sat on his knees. The cold environment had already begun to slow his breathing, so this made it easy for him to slip into something of a meditative trance. After the others had gone, he had begun to tap into the natural energy of his body. Not Magicka per se, something more mundane, and yet extraordinary. He felt blood return to his toes, and underneath his robe he began to gather and recycle what little heat he had left, until it grew warmer and warmer. Eventually, the snow he was sitting on melted through, revealing the dirty grass beneath in a small circle around him. He sighed deeply and opened his eyes, feeling much refreshed.

Nathaniel Leinheart - Campsite

"Hey, Nathaniel is it? I'll be your Nord. The name's Hjolifur.", the large figure said.

"It's an honor.", Nathaniel replied.

You two should build a blind together and I'll make one for myself, but only once we've gone away from all these people."

Sora then inquired as to what a tiger blind was. Nathaniel was also curious to here exactly what a tiger blind was.

The Nord quickly indulged the question, "Sticks and moss and snow piled up to stop an animal from seeing you."

With that Sora suggested they be off.

Nathaniel rose from his place at the fire then moved over to where Sora and Hjolifur were standing.

"Alright let's go. You lead the way Hjolifur."

Marcus walked back to Orlando's tent a reported the reaction to his invitations.

"They turned away a free meal? That's interesting ... but I suppose entirely predictable; the group consciousness is keen to establish the leaders of the herd and this 'hunt' provides suitable excuse. Ah, it is of little importance. Prepare a meal for just us three, then. Oh, and open a bottle of '63 would you. That was a fine year."

"Very good my Lord."

Marcus bowed and left leaving Orlando in his tent. His tent was big enough to stand in and was covered in several rugs and furs. He would have to get up early in the morning to allow his servants time to pull it down and pack it away but the effect it created was worth it. And judging by Marcus' report of the group's reactions, it was working. He sat down and pulled out his pocket mirror and comb and brushed back a few stray hairs. He inspected his goate. It was growing out very slightly. He would need to see to it in the morning. He heard the hunting group trudging away in the thick snow and felt a twinge of regret he wasn't out there with them. Stay focussed. Orlando shook his head and frowned as if shaking off a heavy sleep. He was restless. This is what his life had become; politics, planning and scheming while others saw to his every want and need. It wasn't a bad life. It was good. Very good. It was just ... boring.

OOC: So Juhanor, Trannigan, and Cordus are the ones in the forest? Bueno. Click on Ice Troll to get an image.

Game Master Post #2

As night falls on the this forest of Skyrim, beady black eyes peer out of patch of scrub at three hunters. Despite it's stink, it avoids immediate detection. One of it's prey, a khajiit, remarks in it's strange language, and this serves only to intrigue the beast of the bush further. But it quickly starts to grow hungrier.

Emerging from the bushes, the hunters are met by the sight of a monstrosity. Standing over eight feet tall, and covered in dirty, thick, coarse white hair. The http://www.theyeticave.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/yeti.jpg roars out it's challenge to the hunters, as it beats the ground furiously before charging the three.

As Trannigan stepped through the bushes to get a better view point of the deer, a huge ice troll suddenly appeared infront of him. The troll let out a violent roar that made Trannigan jump back to prepare himself. Seeing that the Ice Troll had its sights set on Juhanor, Trannigan quickly built up more shock energy and blasted it at the troll's chest. The troll let out another roar as the electricity coursed through its body and layed a hungry gaze upon it's attacker. Breathing heavily, it gnashed it's teeth together a few times before quickly charging at the group.

"Bring it on ya mangy beast!" Trannigan shouted and readied himself to try to dodge the trolls attacks as it got to him. The troll took a strong swipe for Trannigans torso but he quickly rolled under its claw then delivered a sword slash to the back of its right leg, aswell as sending another bolt into the beasts back. The hairs on the trolls back singed and let off thin trails of smoke as the troll turned to lunge at one of them again. Trannigan moved himself closer to his comrades and readied himself into a defensive position.

Octavius, Camp

He only partially listened to the conversation going on around him as he periodically warmed his fingers and toes with small blasts of magicka. It was one of his oldest tricks along with chilling water on hot days and giving himself little shocks to wake himself up in the mornings. The banter around him was what he would expect from a number of restless adventurers and sure enough they were already picking groups to go hunting. Octavius didn't mind hunting, but his pack had a large amount of salted meats and dried fruits that he would have gladly shared amongst everyone.

He was about to offer when a man came into the group and asked if anyone would like to have dinner with his master. The response of everyone was somewhat rude as they laughed at the absurdity of having such a formal meal out in the snow. Plus everyone started commenting on how food should be saved for when they are deep in a cave. Octavius remained quiet throughout the entire planning but as soon as the groups had left he got up from the snow, quickly grabbed his crossbow and pack from the caravan and walked over to where the servant had left after being ridiculed.

He didn't barge in, but he cleared his throat loudly as he couldn't decide where to knock and said, "If it is all right with you, I wouldn't mind sharing that meal good sir."

Hjolifur took off his Clovian fur hat and most of his armor before digging through the hard-packed snow. A few places he needed to use his sword to help, but he reached dirt in a timely fashion. Once there were http://www.photographysmith.co.uk/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/snow-grass.jpg visible.

Hjolifur rubbed himself with them on his exposed skin and even under his cloves in the places where he sweated the most, namely his underarms, hairline, and groin. Then he grabbed some more of the plants for his young followers and motioned for them to do the same. "I know it might not look – or feel – very fun, but it covers your sent. And frankly, that is one of the most important parts of attracting prey."

Hjolifur then started walking towards the woods, hoping that the other members of his party would follow.

Marcus smiled. "My master will be most pleased that you will grant him the honour of your company this evening. I shall inform him immediately." Marcus disappeared into the tent leaving Octavius standing outside. He re-appeared a moment later. "My master is ready for you now" he said, holding the flap to the tent open.

Orlando stood in his evening attire, his walking cane in hand, a large smile across his face, hair greased back, eye brows plucked, goate trimmed. "My name is Orlando Wrex and I welcome you" He said, extending his hand. "Please, what may I call you? Do take a seat" He said sitting down himself. "Would you care for a drink? I have a vintage bottle of '63 simply dying to be consumed" He offered a glass and poured one for himself. Orlando clapped twice and Marcus entered carrying a platter of cheeses and bread. "Do help your self" Orlando motioned, "the main course will be arriving shortly but, perhaps contrary to convention, I prefer my cheeses before the main course, not after. I do hope you pardon my informality." He said, taking some bread and cheese off the platter which had been placed by Marcus on the table positioned in-between Orlando and Octavius.

"Do you know," said Orlando "What with me being so excited about someone accepting my offer, I've entirely forgotten to let you introduce yourself. Do excuse me for being so dreadfully impolite."
