I never got the opportunity to play F1 or 2 so I would'nt know :/

Eh, then why are you commenting that something breaks lore, when you have next to no knowledge of what is and isn't lore correct?

been planning on lurking the wiki a bit, but IMHO trees whispering to you seems like an Elder scrolls thing, not something to be added to F3, and seems like something that would break lore, like MMM"s random behemoth spawns.

To be fair once you've played FO 1 and 2, you'll realize that MOST of what Bethesda put in to the game breaks lore or doesn't fit with the "Fallout theme", I mean the enclave even being there was a giant red blinking alarm to me. Technically, you, as the chosen one, killed them off in FO2 on the oil rig. Basically beheading them of their high command and most of their scientists. Ghoul!Moira is another one, ghouls aren't made by SUDDEN bursts of radiation but by small to mid sized amounts of radiation over time or by a slight amount of FEV getting on you in Harolds case, and the devs of FO 1 and 2 confirmed that Harold is an oddity, unique to himself. There's also no way she could have survived the heat wave that went out after the nuke. FEV being anywhere but Mariposa and the oil rig is yet another alarm bell. Especially since BoS was retconed out of existence just before the devs of Van Buren got axed.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. FO3 breaks the lore. It's true, but what you gonna do about it? It's Beth's baby now. New Vegas looks like it will please the old guard more. Until then...

Back on topic:

I would love to see a private vault that has never been opened. Meet the isolated descendants. Slowly learn their crazy ways. Discover the trap: Once in a while they let someone in, to keep the genepool fresh. But they never let anyone out...

Quite, we've(the old school gamers) complained about that too.

As to the fact that it is canon I am not disputing, as Go said, it's Bethesda's baby now. What they say, is canon, no matter how much they pervert established lore. I am looking forward to Fallout New Vagas, if only hesitantly, because Obsidian puts out buggy, unfinished games.

As to the topic, I'd like to see a fully featured terraforming/ground modifying mod.

And to get really ridiculous, I'd like to dynamically be able to dig my own caves. Build my own houses, raise my own walls, declare myself sovereign, and manage my own farm.

And further notching up the Batman villain scale of insanity, I'd like a decent sized world to do this in, something about the size of Daggerfall.

Now to completely break that scale, I want to be able to solve all situations with diplomacy, and there to be REAL consequence for killing hundreds of people.

Now to stomp upon it's remains, I want a limited, realistic population of wildlife and people. Around 200,000-500,000 NPCs, and 2,000,000 creatures large and small would be about right. Each NPC would track it's family members, and have stories of their own, maybe carry around a photo of their family, or a toy from their dad. EVERYBODY is killable, permanently, and you could over time kill everybody and everything in the wasteland, once again permanently.

Now to burn it to slag, I want every building openable with unique layouts in each.

Now to make it anew and burn it with a flamethrower again, I want unique item descriptions for every item, that evolve over time, and describe things like cracks, wears, kill counts, and stains.

But most of these will likely NEVER come about within this game. So I shall go back to learning to program.

I'd like a mod that would speed up the sleep ticker/timer. It takes too long to sleep when you need to pass some time. Anything like that out there?

Well, we've reached the tenth page, I request this be closed, I'll be making a new thread post haste (perhaps with a new rule or two.)
