all these modern fallout games , e.g fallout 3, fallout new Vegas should connect with the originals, especially fallout 3. these games have strayed from there original story line and i think it would be great if in fallout 4 they bring back some of the story line from the early fallout games.

New Vegas (the newest Fallout) stayed true to the series, Fallout 3 did not.

TBH, Fallout 3 was the main diversion from the series because it was the only Fallout that was developed by Bethesda. If we were basing the series on a set of sequels, it would be:

Fallout 2
Fallout 3 (Van Buren)
Fallout 4 (New Vegas)
