The February Game Informer Cover Thread

Post » Tue Jan 12, 2010 8:02 am

I'll probably ask here, does anyone know how I can get the magazine if I don't live in any areas where they sell it locally? Do they ship them through Amazon or something like that that reaches the majority of countries in the world? I want to get it legally (yes I am well aware that there are methods to see the magazine which are not completely within the control of the copyright distributors, however I want a physical copy of the magazine)

According to amazon's website under the product shipping "Shipping: Currently, item can be shipped only within the U.S."

Sorry :(

Thats unfortunate. I know that GI can be subscribed from Canada and Mexico but I am not sure about anywhere else.

Holy carp! Too bad I live in the UK. Oh well, someone will post screens or something, but it's just not the same as holding it in your hands D:

I am very eager to get it. Naturally, there will be screenshots, minor lot details, commentary on tone and the like. Also on the GI website there will likely be a Skyrim Hub that will include even more stuff, like early gameplay videos so we can get a firsthand look at the animations.

Exactly the same situation for me. A bit disappointing, but at least the information will still be out there. January still feels a long way off after the VGA announcement.

Thats what I am hoping for. I want most of the information IN the magazine though. Just to look back in 20 years and think... yeah... :)

Am I the only one who gets concerned that so many game journalists are crazy for Skyrim? Personally I don't trust any, and based on game of the year choices and such, I'd be surprised it's anything to make TES fans wet.

I wouldn't worry. Instead of learning few bits of not 100% reliable information here and there, we'll just get almost everything we need to know from the get go and in detail. Though I'm sure we'll get story details as usual, just no real spoiler.

Spoilers shouldn't be a problem think about it this way we learn more information about the game. Possible lore, cities, certain guilds, improvements/changes from Oblivion etc.

They're not all crazy for Skyrim. I was listening to the latest episode of Invisible Walls on Gametrailers, and TESV was but a speck to them compared to Uncharted 3 and Arkham City. They said the trailer and its unveiling was laughable and moved on to other games. Sure, there are peeps like Andrew Reiner that have the opposite reaction, but they're getting different info too.

That's good. Because you know, I can't take anyone seriously who claims ME2's dialogue system is deep and well made and that Shepard is an interesting character. Just something I read amongst plenty others. Or how Splinter Cell conviction is a killer SC sequel... It seems to me that most only care about cheap, "exciting" game mechanics and things that makes a game less deep, not that every game has to be complex and not just a fun game, but each time I read a review they're totally on the opposite of what I look forward to.

They should have a midnight release of the magazine, considering all the attention the thing is getting.
