The February Game Informer Cover Thread IV

Post » Thu Apr 29, 2010 6:47 am

Ah, well that svcks. I'm just hoping that the version that is available to us folk outside the US aren't given some dumbed down version of it. D:

Me too...

Although we could probably find scans on some dark corners of the internet. Or even bright ones, I remember Portal 2's being leaked everywhere you looked :)

... and I fear it.

Really, how will this be moderated? I can already see dozens of threads popping up like this ("AAAH IT'S THE AKAVIRI!", "MOUNTED COMBAT IS BACK", "LOOK THIS IS SOO COOL"), and we will just drown in a [censored]storm of info and spoilers. Could we at least have a stickied topic that contains all information on the first page?

Andy McNamara, Editor-In-Chief of Game Informer has tweeted:

"Should start arriving to subscribers end of this week, early next week - give or take. And yeah, once people read this, heads will explode."

Best news since the game's announcement. Now I'm foaming at the mouth.

Brb while I go to the store to find me a new head.

Thats a decent thought, one dedicated thread should be made or something for the people who don't want to know too much. Plus once the big info starts drooling over the internet more new members will be coming straight this way and BANG new thread made about a certain feature that caught their eye.

So yeah..... Mod.... speak to us!

http://spong.com/article/23451/Game-Informer-Threatens-to-Sue-RPS-Over-Tomb-Raider should scare anyone from scanning and distributing February's edition of Game Informer.

So don't y'all think about it. :nono:

Any speculation or educated guesses on what the cover art will actually feature? Dovahkiin? A dragon? A random guy in heavy armour(!)?

Either way, I can't wait to see it tomorrow.

"It is The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on the all-black cover" - Andy McNamara, Game informer.

Has game informer ever hyped a game this much?

I took that as a joke, but then again I could be wrong. Either way, it's the inside content I care about! And there will be glorious large screenshots.

A black cover with the silver Dragon symbol would be pretty sick to look at.

Its okay if you missed it -- its incredibly vague. I'm sure there will be more to the cover...only tomorrow will tell. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1fWmc1y4qc

I swear he was sarcastic.

I think it was mentioned in another GI employees twitter account that they "Just showed the Skyrim cover to [Some important people]. Some of them Wowed!" or something along those lines. I don't think anyone would "Wow" at just a black cover with the title on it.

Meh, I'm probably wrong anyway.

Well, pardon me for wating to see the cover and the 14-page review, not living in the US/UK and not having the slightest idea of how to/how could I get it (if I even can)...

Game Informer seem like a right horrible bunch. I read that RPS article last night and while it was a light hearted dig at the idea exclusivity and gameinformers rather antiquated concept of information control it was very much giving the credit to them and directing readers to their site. Their reaction is just childish, nasty and indicitive of how out of touch they are.

What's more it shows how much stock they put in being the only people with the access which, imo, makes anything they write utterly untrustworthy. If they are prostituing themselves for exclusive rights what is the price? It certainly isn't objectivity. Kinda makes all this "blow your mind" stuff rather suspect if they're just an extension of the PR team.

The way it was for Oblivion and Bethesda's Fallout(s).

Post scans, direct transcripts, or links to them, and get warned, suspended, and/or banned, as appropriate.

Post spoilers in the General Forum and end up with warnings and suspensions, or if it would be the fourth warning, banned.

If you've read the article, you can discuss it. But you can't link to it, or cut and paste quote it.

Gstaff and Nick have posted the usual warning:
