The February Game Informer Cover Thread IV

Post » Wed Apr 28, 2010 9:35 pm

Could someone who reads the magazine tomorrow tell us when we will see leaked screenshots?

Doing so here would be an incredibly bad idea.

Why would it be bad?

I'm sure there will be plenty of screens on their website by the end of the month. Remember, the Skyrim hub goes up tomorrow and will be updated periodically through the coming weeks.
GameInformer has exclusivity with the screenshots right now. They make money as a business by selling their magazines. Leaking them online would be disrespectful and against the rules.

Anyone giving links to copyrighted/exclusive screenshots will end up with at least a warning. Read Gstaff's post about it.

Why would you need to know when leaked (scanned) screenies are out? They'll be out when the magazine is out probably. Its not a matter of when but where. And its not going to be here, dont post em, dont link em.

More than likely they will be banned. Or at very least a warn that will never be reduced and a suspension of posting privileges for a long, long time.

I do feel bad for people who cant get a hold of a GI. I'll be visiting my nearest gamestop to "browse" a random 10+ pages of a random magazine xD.

Anyone who did for Oblivion was. I think Hayt even tagged one or two. And when an Admin bans you, you stay banned.

I must say I'm a little annoyed that us people in the UK won't get legal access to the information in the GI mag at the same time as those in the US.

I tried to search to see if this has been posted, but in the latest GI Podcast, The Year in Review edition, Andy Reiner talks about a game he recently viewed and compared it to it's predecessor that released near the launch of X-box 360. He does not mention Skyrim but I am pretty sure he was referring to Skyrim. He says the new game makes the old game look like a "late Playstation 2 game." The quote begins at the 36:00 minute mark.

Did anybody else catch this? If so, do you believe like I do that he is talking about Skyrim?

Yeah, I mentioned it somewhere in a previous thread. I wasn't sure if I was the only one that thought that. Glad I'm not.
If anyone can name a game in a series that hasn't had a new installment since 2006, I'd like to hear it. Otherwise, totally Skyrim!

Good deal. Wasn't trying to steal your thunder.

I am very optimistic for this game graphically and I don't even care about graphics that much in TES. The GI guys look at all types of games every day and for them to seem that impressed has me excited.

So do I need to order this magazine, or can I just snatch it off a rack and then read it? Buying it that way mind you!

You can buy it. It probably won't be on shelves until later next week, though.
Subscribers will get it earlier.

It's too late to order the mag if you want to read it this month. Not sure if it's 100% available in Canada. You can try asking your local Gamestop or EB Games if they sell GameInformer at their store.

Did the oblivion gi reveal coincide with an update on elderscrolls.com? Can we expect the official website to be updated this week?

Thanks both of you. I have faith it will be, cause we do have EB games. Sad part is though is that if it does ship later in the week... my break will be over by then :(

It is. I see it everytime I go into gamestop. They usually display it on the front desk.

I'm in Canada as well and i can confirm that EBgames usually has a few copies handy for about $5 or $6. Just pop in to the store or call them for availability.

Either look for an alternativ source for the info/screens or wait a little longer. I wouldn't be worried with regards to the info though. THe day it hits this forum WILL be flooded with discussion. I really hope someone does a thread collecting all the given info though.

Or you know you could just visit the gameinformer website

I'm sure they'll be posting information and screenshots as well
