The February Game Informer Cover Thread V

Post » Tue May 04, 2010 5:24 am

If this is directed to anyone, probably not. We will probably see the cover, everyone will spaz out over that, and then we will have to wait a day or two to see more about it(at least on the site anyway)

They actually said there would be some "awesome online stuff" on the hub when the mag is revealed. I might just fake being sick tomorrow :frog:

Just to be clear. bethesda ARE nazis. lol.

I can understand GI owns the pictures and information in the GI magazine, but punishing us for talking about it goes a little too far. I can understand why Beth doesnt want copyrighted materials posted on thier forum, but not even links to links to links? I mean you cant stop us from scanning the pages or images for freinds outside the forum, so why bother.

There will be no scans whatsoever and there will be no calling Bethesda names.

I'd like to know this also, can we paraphrase and discuss?

Yes, you may paraphrase. You may not copy and past and you may only directly quote a couple of sentences. Often folks will quote a couple of lines as an example of what they are paraphrasing.

It's already the sixth here... Which means...

I am in the same day as the Skyrim cover release.

How happy this makes me is actually quite disturbing. I haven't even seen it yet.

For anyone wanting to know, it looks like GI's headquarters are in Minneapolis, MN. I'm guessing those nearby to the headquarters (like me, [censored] yes!) will get the issue sooner.

Unless the magazines are shipped from somewhere else? I really have no idea how mag distribution works.

Dont work that way just because you close dont mean a thing and they send out the single issues in mail by some sort of alphabetical order or something which really svcks for me as I am wwww for first initials lol

Anyone know how long it took bethesda to update the official site after oblivion was revealed in gi? Hopefully elderscrolls.com gets updated with some sweet skyrim stuff soon after this gi reveal!

What do you guys think the quickest way to get it is? I'm going to go look in my gamestop on Saturday if I don't get it before.

Whoops, I should have clarified -- I meant that maybe stores closer to Minneapolis will get them sooner.

Does anyone know if we are allowed to give info out on the forum? I am not talking about quotes or pictures or scans. I mean talking about it in our own words but clearly with information from the GI? I will ask a mod anyways but if you know then tell me please.

I'd like to know this also, can we paraphrase and discuss?

Yes, discussion is fine. Its the complete transcripts, scans, and links to the same that aren't allowed.

As announced earlier this week, in a few weeks, the first details on Skyrim will be shared in the February issue of Game Informer. We can't wait for you to see the cover story, BUT....

Not here! We do not allow magazine scans or links to scans on other sites on this forum. Not for Game Informer, or any magazine preview thereafter.

Likewise, we will not tolerate anyone transcribing the article* and posting that, or posting links to a transcription.

Our moderators will be keeping an eye on these and removing links, handing out warnings, suspensions, and so on. So be good, and don't do that.

*To be clear, if you've read the article, you're free to discuss it in the forums.

I don't think it will be in the stores until about the 14th or so. We without subscriptions will have to just make do with what information we can get and wait until it hits the shelves. I learned my lesson about last minute ordering when Oblivion was announced and I rushed to order. I bought it in the store before I got it in the mail. And by the time they processed my order, I didn't even get that month's magazine but the next one that came out. So it was good I bought it anyway.

I'm won't get this one until the 15th when I go back to town to a concert. (cheech and chong)

I heard that you can't buy single issues of GI at GameStop, only subscriptions. Is that true?

Game Informer is located in Minnesota, so it's CST. There's 3 1/2 hours until the 6th there.

Come on guys. Nobody knows exactly when (timewise) the cover will be released, and nobody knows (they can only speculate) when actual information will be digested by your brains.
