The February Game Informer Cover Thread XI

Post » Wed May 12, 2010 8:13 pm

The writing is the theme song! We can decode what it says!

Precisely my thinking. We need to get cracking on this!

As for the actual cover, according to the article it seems it will be a lot cooler in person. But still I expected some kind of artwork like normal. MAN he said 20 screenshots...

How do you have a "new" cover of something we've seen before. Complete swing and a miss, IMHO.

The text reads:
"Lulz you figured out teh text nao u will receive a free copy of ESV. Nah just kiddin' uve been rickroll'd!"
And holy s***, about 600 people reading this.

And the text seems to have something to do with the storyline.
Oh, and about that mysterious text on the back cover. If you’re Dragonborn, you should be able to figure it out. More on that later today.

This is the symbol that you can see in all the games...... EVERYWHERE. There is nothing new or exciting about the symbol. It is the Akaviri symbol and thats it ....right?

Am I the only one who thought the new cover was classy looking? Sure, I want screenshots, but I can wait. ;)

Just what I was thinking. Well, at least it's funny.

It actually gives the cover a feel of simplistic epic to it.

Not to mention the symbol is supposedly 3dish in person.

I've gotten a pen and paper, and have started work on decyphering the text.

Wish me luck folks :foodndrink:

I dig it...powerful and lends to the mystery. Looking forward to see what lies within though.

It's still loading for me. Okay done.

I'm not disappointed at all. This is pretty much what I expected, although not including the mysterious poem on the back. Now I'll laugh at all the wailing whines of "ruined FOREVER!" because the cover art of an independent publication didn't live up to expectations that were impossibly high.

I dunno guys. I wanted some Skyrim artwork as much as anyone, but that cover looks pretty classy.

More importantly, the hub is up.

They lose a great opportunity, if GI have what we don't a good cover is the minimum.

Disappointing cover is disappointing....

But the content is likely to be much better...and couldn't be much worse...

Nah, 14 pages of content and 20~ pictures from the new game, it'll be in someone's grubby little hands soon. I'll pick it up when it gets on the newsstand.

This is the greatest practical joke in gaming history xD

It is my friend, it is.

Bethesda and GI have pulled a prank on us, devoted TES fans. Shame on them!

What did you guys expect? Andy McNamara tweeted that it was a solid black cover.

Personally, I think it's simple and elegant. I like it.

Now that the hub is up, I'm ready to see some screenshots trickle out.

Are you freaking serious? I stayed up to 4 in the morning for the [censored] Skyrim symbol and some weird symbols?

This feels like a huge "screw-you" from GI and Bethesda if they were involved in the cover... What happened to it being mind blowing and everything?

The cover actually looks pretty great when you have a physical copy. Nicely embossed and everything. And as mentioned later today, you'll be able to find out the meaning of the text on the back page.

And the mind's blown quote-- I believe that was more specific to the cover story itself.

It's new that the logo is in a higher resolution than before, and they've added scratches on the back :whistling:
