The February Game Informer Cover Thread VIII

Post » Sun May 09, 2010 11:55 am

And we're back. Still no cover though :(

You know us too well :P

Does anyone else have any predictions for a time?

Tomorrow night, tonight at 10. I am the WEATHERMAN!

But seriously, I don't quite understand why everyone's getting so excited over something that's really not going to reveal very much. I mean I can understand getting a little excited but... This just reminds me a lot of the Terrance and Phillip movie trailer.

I'm in Central Time like Game Informer, and it's currently 8:34am. 8 am is when most places start to work, so I figure they'll need time to have their coffee and do their morning routine. We'll probably see something around 9.

Same. Probably has been asked and answered, but since I am not up re-reading seven threads : will those who have suscribed to GI be allowed to recount its contents and/or scan screenshots for those who cannot access it ? What with the forums rules, how will this go down ?

It was actually answered in the OP of this thread. And it's the very top pinned topic of this entire sub-forum. I would suggest you go read that topic for rules regarding scans and recounting. http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1149624-do-not-post-magazine-scans-transcripts-or-links-to-either/

@Shockwave-p, Yeah, let's hope that happens.

Is the cover usually on the website frontpage, or in the gallery (that ends at Dec. 2010? )

What is meant with transcribing? Does that also know that we can't rephrase the article?

From all I can see Game Informer covers are paintings. So no in-game screenshot, nothing that would be even remotely interesting since it doesn't reveal anything about the actual game. Probably you'll see a few screaming, axe swinging Nords and a dragon throwing fire at them. Uh.

I think we should just relax and calm down until GI cover is revealed. We are not in a madhouse

Actually, technically, I am. Well, I work in one as a therapist and am currently in my office. So, does this mean I have to relax as well?

Play it safe and don't try to game the system. It's okay to summarize what you read but if it's something that would make your high school English teacher roll her eyes, don't do it.

I've been getting "end of subscription" notifications on the covers of the last two issues of Game Informer that arrived at my house. Also, I'm currently living 45 minutes away from where I receive my mail, so I'm debating if it is worth it to drive an hour and a half round trip for a magazine that has, at best, a 50% chance of even being there.

You're a therapist and you call the place you work at a madhouse?

Shame.

It will be located on the "feed" section of the front page once it's revealed I believe.

It means you can't go "Quote blah blah blah blah blah exactly what's in a large portion the article blah" You can discuss some of what's in the article and use small quotes from it to make it clear what you are talking about. At least that's my understanding of the rules.

Edit* Ninja'd! And @LostInSpace. Yeah, the pink font was all Mankar, and I understand your sad sad hope :sadvaultboy:

Wait, the mag is shipping today? Really? Is anyone here a subscriber living near the GI HQ?

I live in Foley, which is a good 90 minutes from Minneapolis.

I never called it anything, referring to the abstract term used above. We do however call our locked psychiatric and crisis stabalization unit many things. If you cant make light of things, then there is no point in being.

I'm loving the idea of all hell breaking loose outside your office while you sit refreshing on the forums :P (Also agree with the making light of things - my fella works on a secure ward and I think if he didn't make jokes it would break him sometimes lol)

I can't remember, but didn't the GI cover for Oblivion was an actual beta shot of Oblivion? Wasn't it a Knight or guy in armour on a horse? That was no painting, I am sure of it.
