The February Game Informer Cover Thread XII

Post » Fri May 14, 2010 3:17 pm

The second line looks like "something... of the son... something". I mean, the letters literally look like that. Probably wrong.

If we assume the third word, second line is "the" then the fourth word, fifth line is probably "theirs".

That's the cover!

Man, some people get so excited over nothing..

Now, to find a website (since I don't subscribe to the mag) that has a scan of all the 14 pages.

Ugh, just like the trailer, it shows me nothing about the game.

Disappointed3

Well, I can tell they didn't allocate much budget to advertising!

The Dragon text was previously available? Personally, I love the cover!

Hey Lady, if I want to read something, I will read it on an existing language.

Anyway, I bet it's an Akaviri language, and that the main quest is about an Akaviri invasion. I also made a thread about my http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1153970-main-quest-akaviri-invasion/

On the contrary, it's marketing at it's finest. It doesn't make people happy but it makes them want it even more.

That was posted a little while back (originally featured in the the GI January issue, IIRC), and contains no Skyrim info.
Edit: :ninja:

There's a http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1155963-gi-back-cover-poem/ thread now too.

Yeah, that's not what you're looking for to decrypt the text. You'll find out more later today. From the GI hub:

What's that on the back cover? The strange language seen there offers the first hints of Skyrim's story, along with a unique tie to the singing in the recent teaser trailer. What does it say? The answer lies in translating the stanzas into English. Check back later today to solve the puzzle. It's the first installment of our month-long extravaganza of online Skyrim stories, all of which will be found on the game's hub page as they release, linked from the image below.

I don't think the poem is the song sung on the trailers word for word. For one, it's too long and second, the two stanzas are almost identical in length so if it's a song the verse repeats its tune.

Edit: I don't suppose we're allowed to post the back part of the cover here are we? You know for decrypting purposes.

The repeated question keeps being ignored.... when will the GI mag be available for purchase?

I find it rather frustrating that information on Skyrim can only be accessed if you live in the USA and buy a magazine. Not very customer-friendly I think ...

Would you like to pre-order Skyrim today?"

"A new era is dawning in the world of Tamriel"

Literally?

Then it has to be the fourth era, which means a direct follow-up to Oblivion.

(That said, I haven't read The Infernal city.

I'm surprised there aren't more people disappointed with the cover. I don't know if anybody had seen past covers such as Halo Reach and for Skyrim we get a screenshot of Skyrims website.

If you want to get banned then be my guest.

:P

But seriously, don't go around telling people that you are going to steal some pages out of a magazine. That's illegal.
