Too bad there's no way to order only one issue of GI (with a delivery to Eastern Europe).

I loved the cover.

Third, this is the first cover in history to my knowledge to have encrypted essential story details on a cover of a magazine. Awesome idea, and again, story info is better than some art work.

I think you're over estimating the "runes" they've put on the cover. It's a paragraph of what I'm sure equates to "The Dragonborn is coming for the dragons who are in Skyrim with the dragons blah blah blah"

The fact is, 12 lines of made up language will not convey anything more essential than the 14 pages in English printed in the actual magazine.

Don't judge a book by its cover.... :read:

People are judging just the cover. I don't understand where some of you are getting the idea that people are lowering their expectations for the game or something based on the cover?

dont worry about them. at a sales and design standpoint its near perfect. you WANT the symbol to be known and build up on itself.

generic mountins or some guy on a horse won't do that.

Odd, since that's exactly what they went with for GI Oblivion cover, so they were not concerned with building on the logo back then? Don't get me wrong, I prefer a minimalistic approach as well, and this new cover is miles ahead of anything they have done before, just think they could have used something actually new, instead of reusing assets that are already know to the public.

Possibly, but I wouldn't count on that. Luckily I'm a subscriber already.

which was my point, the oblivion cover was laughable. generic guard on a horse with cgi that doens't represent the game.

could have been any other fantasy game. this one is 100x better.

You wont. You'll probably wont even get this month's edition, so there is no point to subscribing now if all you are interested is in receiving the Skyrim mag.

ahh no point arguing. After all marketing is about what the consumers think. I was expecting this cover and it certainly does build anticipation in that sadistic Bethesda way :flame:

I want to make something clear. I don't hate Game Informer or Bethesda or Skyrim. Far from it, I actually like all three of those things quite a bit. And I'm still hugely excited to read the article. But that doesn't mean I can't be disappointed in a magazine cover. All the other Game Informer covers have beautiful artwork that says something about the story, tone, or gameplay of the game that being depicted. What does Skyrim get? A symbol. A Symbol that anyone who has a passing interest in TES has already seen before. A symbol that says absolutely nothing new, interesting, or exciting.

The funny thing is, is that I don't even really dislike the cover. What's the phrase? "I'm not mad at you, I'm just disappointed." Yeah, it's like that.

So with the GI website when will we expect to see those 14 page's and screen-shots? or are they just adding small amounts of information and leaving the big stuff for the magazine? I live in England so I have never even seen a game stop and I have no idea where to get a game informer, tomorrow I'm going to see if i can get one in a book/magazine shop called WHsmith but I was wondering what us non-Americans are going to do.

A question:

When will we see the new screenshots and info? Thanks!

The cover is simply perfect.

Exactly.

Checked all the Gamestop websites. They only have subscriptions, and some of them don't even have the magazine. I'll just hunt the issue down on Ebay a couple of months from now.

the only new stuff will be actual screens or paragraph of info, which would appease the crazy fans but be very lame and amateur as a cover.

Its the stuff on the inside is what people are after
"A new era is dawning in the world of Tamriel, and we've got 14 pages of screens and details straight from Bethesda."-GI
its like a simple box filled with gold.

The cover is really classy and frankly, that would make a very nice boxart for the actual game!

Too bad it shows me nothing, but that is what the actual article is for!

The characters look Asiany. I am wondering if they are syllabic characters. This would more or less explain why there are so many 3 groupings.

i think gi is showing that this cover is different from their previous covers, trying to show that skyrim is "mysterious," thats why the cover doesnt reveal much. we dont mind if you dislike it though, its your opinion...

Well not exactly. See you'll probably get the same amount of information over the course of the month, but it'll be through screenshots, reviews and interviews that are posted in the hub rather than the actual article. Although if I recall it's not unheard-of for there to be stuff on the hub that isn't anywhere else.
