Alduin is Nord for Akatosh. A creator/destroyer deity whose Earthly form is a giant dragon.

Akatosh, or Akatosh's power and form, is what Martin Septim used to defeat Mehrunes Dagon and light the Dragonfires in TESIV: Oblivion.

Now, as a result of civil war in Skyrim, Alduin is trying to cleanse the earth (or something like that) in order to create again... and we have to stop it.

If that's all the case, it's weird as hell but certainly AWESOME!

This isn't Cthulhu we're dealing with. Most of those gods have a vested interest in Tamriel's survival. If we have Talos on our side I'm confident Nirn won't be destroyed. Or whatever else it means. Is it to do with the start of a new Kalpa?

I meant if Akatosh and Alduin are one and the same though... perhaps the Imperial culture focuses on his creative aspects, while the Nordic culture concentrates on his destructive aspects... when in reality they are both two necessary and amoral sides of the same deity.

Either way, I'm excited.
