Let me get this straight...

Alduin is Nord for Akatosh. A creator/destroyer deity whose Earthly form is a giant dragon.

Akatosh, or Akatosh's power and form, is what Martin Septim used to defeat Mehrunes Dagon and light the Dragonfires in TESIV: Oblivion.

Now, as a result of civil war in Skyrim, Alduin is trying to cleanse the earth (or something like that) in order to create again... and we have to stop it.

If that's all the case, it's weird as hell but certainly AWESOME!

Edit: So it's basically Noah's Ark, retold. Right?

yeah the whole "kill everything and you have to stop it" story line
Noah's ark and even the mass effect trilogy play off this plotline, I find it one of the more interesting choices =)

The lyrics we tried to transcribe for like, ever... weren't even in bloody english in the first place ?

:lmao:

hence why we were TRANSLATING them

I just can't get over the fact that we thought the lyrics were english XD And to think I heard "For the sake of Skyrim" lol

Seriously, everyone speculating the lyrics just got burned (lol get it? dragons? burned? I crack me up ). But I'm actually glad it's in another language entirely. Makes it more interesting. :)

Anyone feel like with this back cover, we've stumbled into an episode of Wheel of Fortune?

I mean then, when the trailer aired, not now. I remember people making countless threads trying to work out what they heard in stanzas of english. No wonder nobody ever agreed. :D

Phew, finished myself. Did it without cheating too *proud*. Fun stuff, Bethesda. :)

It's not often I have fun with a game that hasn't been released yet :P Enjoyed the translating muchly - at first with the logo cover I was a mite disappointed (although it was what I expected), but the text made it a win in my book. Now we've got the screenshots on the hub to look forward to (or the actual mag, if you can get it).

No worries, my post was very unclear. God the devs must have laughed at those lyrics efforts then. :P

Sweet! I knew the song wasn't being sung in english  Glad there are some really dedicated ES fans out there to translate this. The game already sounds epic...lets hope the it follows through!

I think we can.

Oblivion - listen to people talk and you'll hear about this
Trailer - "When the sons of skyrim will spill their own blood"
Poem - "That when brothers wage war come unfurled"

i was more than a mite..i mean look at issue 11, with the resistance 3 concept art.. thats amazing!
then you take a look at the skyrim cover, and its just a black background with an emblem on it, which unbelievably, is the only concrete image we have yet!
(like seriously, the emblem and the title are the only images we have of skyrim..and they chose to put that one image on the cover offering zero insight into the game!)

Go stand around a city, you'll hear people start talking about violence in Skyrim.

Well I was Meh of the cover. Not worth the anicipation at all. So I guess this will be the actual cover of the game on the box then eh? Just reminds me of Oblivion.
Sort of not impressed. I was hoping it would distance it's self from TES IV and not be Oblivion 2.0. So far, I am getting a bit worried. Guess will be able to better
judge once we see the screens come in.

As opposed to Morrowid's triangle on a black background.
