It wasnt just a black cover with "that" symbol on it. We got a text to decrypt and we got the basics of the story - which sounds awesme.

Like i said earlier, its just a cover. I dont see why people are getting so worked up about it. Its the pages inside the magazine that is interesting, not some cover-picture/concept art in my opinion :P.

Why, it wasn't just black with a dragon symbol. It was black with a dragon symbol AND a cryptic poem. A poem that is revealing the plot of the main game so far!

To keep evil forever at bay
And the fiercist foes rout
When they hear triumph's shout
Dragonborn for your blessing we pray

well for all the hype and waiting, i was hoping for atleast some concept art the give mesome idea of the scope and art style of the game, but nooo, now i have to wait another 1-2 weeks to get any concrete information on my next addition :(

Seems close but doesn't have the proper flow like the first paragraph. I love that second line :)

so from these we can infer that:
A. there will be civil war in skyrim
B. Alduin (Akatosh) is looking to om nom the world again

I still don't understand why Alduin is in the translation when Alduin isn't in the translation key.

Daaaaamn, the help here ? Just when I turned my attention somewhere else.

*Looks* We had most of the clues, but yeah, translation key !

... Damn, it *was* an entirely new language ? I understand why they told us to wait.

Why 1-2 weeks? The lucky first GI subscribers to get this should be tomorrow. I have to go work for 11 hours now, I'm hoping for something to be online when I return.

Just solved it! Slow, I know, but I did it for the fun, I like puzzles like that.

From what I've read from other people, the story's shaping up to be suitably epic, guess we can't spoil for those who don't want to know...

however, I would tend to think that the rhyme scheme would be the same as the first paragraph

Alduin is a word directly in the "dragon" speech, therefore doesn't need to be translated into English

Heres your quoted definition from UESP

"Alduin is the Nordic variation of Akatosh, and only superficially resembles his counterpart in the Eight Divines. For example, Alduin's sobriquet, 'the world eater', comes from myths that depict him as the horrible, rauaging firestorm that destroyed the last world to begin this one. Nords therefore see the god of time as both creator and harbinger of the apocalypse. He is not the chief of the Nordic pantheon (in fact, that pantheon has no chief; see Shor) but its wellspring, albeit a grim and frightening one."-UESP

Alduin doesn't need a translation. It's the name itself of the nordic version of Akatosh.

The plot seems pretty epic, it might be even better than Morrowind's.
A civil war and the return of Alduin to eat the world, throw some political intrigue which will definately be there because of the civil wars and we have winner :D
