Tries piecing this together with the trailer?
If this is the tongue of the dragons, and Dovahkiin in "their" tongue is dragonborn... It says that "they"(dragons, then) fear dovahkiin.
Seems like the most obvious answer one would give after watching the trailer, but where does that part with alduin and world-eating come in?

So, will that make us, the player, the dragonborn then?
Seems likely that we will play the dovakiin... Either that or we have to find them (ala Martin in Oblivion)

Alduin doesn't need a translation. It's the name itself of the nordic version of Akatosh.

The plot seems pretty epic, it might be even better than Morrowind's.
A civil war and the return of Alduin to eat the world, throw some political intrigue which will definately be there because of the civil wars and we have winner :D

i hope skyrim trys to be less "epic" than oblivion, like we are dealing with issues on a smaller scale. because imo, the epic-ness oblivion was cheesy and felt like i was watching a $100 budget movie

Alduin is a word directly in the "dragon" speech, therefore doesn't need to be translated into English

Ah, I see now.

Epic-ness, when done correctly is just that, epic. And epic means good.

True, I need to stop using epic. By now it might be the most common word on the internet...

But what I meant was, the plot seems pretty well developed.

however, I would tend to think that the rhyme scheme would be the same as the first paragraph

it isn't meant to be in english remember, so there was little to no chance that it would/should have a rhyme scheme while read in the english language. it probably does have a rhyme scheme when said in dragon speak or whatever lol

*when done correctly*
i.e, not oblivion

but anyways, can someone plain outline the plotline (to your best guesstimate) for me please :D

What do dragons have to do with Alduin?

/snip from a site...

Alduin is the Nordic variation of Akatosh, and only superficially resembles his counterpart in the Nine Divines. For example, Alduin's Title, The World Eater, comes from myths that depict him as the horrible, rauaging fire storm that destroyed the last world to begin this one. Nords therefore see the God of Time as both creator and harbinger of the apocalypse. He is not the chief of the Nordic pantheon but its wellspring, albeit a grim and frightening one.

Which makes sense, because the symbol on the cover is on the back of the coin from TES IV - which is of course Akatosh.

The dragon are thought to be the 'mortal' versions of the gods, they were created when the gods made sweet love but every generation became less and less divine IIRC.
