The final moment in the main quest..so poorly made

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 3:34 am

I didnt even realize i had "beaten" the game per se. There was no cut scene, i was waiting around after its all said and done, hoping for some dialogue or something to tell me ANYTHING. Cant say much without spoilers but jeez is anyone else let down? On a positive note it was really fun all the way through.

Yes truth be told, I was expecting a huge battle.

I can respect the battle they gave us. What i cant respect is the two words you receive, a pat on the back, then you're standing around waiting for more. I swear i spent 30 mins waiting for a certain something to come talk to me.

I'm not. TES is generally not one for cutscenes. I'm sure they COULD have cut scenes. The same way they could design the game around third person. Cutscenes sorta lead the player around and what not, which tends to take from the whole "I'm a part of this world" thing.

Yeah true. Im just comparing the ending to oblivion which was much more epic and you felt accomplished knowing it was over. Hell im still in denial that its actually over. I was expecting some epic reward.

For me the ending was absolutely fine, except:

Spoiler
Alduin was far too easy to beat.

And i'm glad there were no cutscenes. They really don't belong in this kind of game.

I'd consider the Civil War the main story or atleast part of the main story line, atleast that has an epic battle at the end.

I agree, there should be some type of small reward for... Oh, i dont know.. Saving the world? And i think the fight should have more mechanics to it. And maybe a final death blow would wrap it all up in a nice ribbon. I loved the storyline, it was one of the best games ive ever played.

I had fun with the main quest but I think that time/budget constraints were the culprit.

Cutscenes were just a suggestion. It really needs a better more satisfying way of telling you that you just saved existence itself.
