@devs

Will we see the Tommy gun in the game? Can we get a yes or no or a "wAit & see"?

I swear at the end of that last Dev diary video i saw what looked to be part of a Tommy gun.

Edit: Never mind I thought http://www.youtube.com/bethesdasoftworks (At approximately 2:36) was a Tommy Gun but as you can see it seems to have a round magazine on the top.

I still suspect there will be about one thread per day... I would be surprised if it wasn't in game but it doesn't bother me either way.

That gun looked nothing like an AK. It looks like a Tommy gun with a Bren magazine.

A gun from the 60s eh. Damn it, my noir PI needs a Tommy gun. He had to use the 38, unscoped 44 and his fists in F3 exclusively because the lack of period weapons.

From what I could see it looked like an ak without a clip in it. Now that I've starred at it for about 5 minutes it does look like http://world.guns.ru/smg/am180-1.jpg. I never once looked at it and thought http://www.modelguns.co.uk/images/milchicag21.jpg though.

I think Krik's comment was how Fallout hasn't always stuck to the 1950s and before weapons (hence the link to the WIkipedia Desert Eagle page). After all, the Anti-Materiel Rifle is a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PGM_Hecate_II (didn't enter French service till 1993), and previous Fallout games have had weapons such as the P90.

Well, have you ever shot a tommy gun? It is gonna be all you will want to use. Watch. Plus it fits the vegas mafia style that everyone wants.

Al Capone's Tommy gun... I want it...
I would think this would be in a museum, or the leader of the Mafia would have it (or one) =/

I will go ahead & just start off with what you just said, yes that is what everyone wants (most people). The developers wanted to be different then Fallout 2's New Reno, so instead of mobsters controlling the majority of Vegas it's . . .Cartoon Robots on wheels. Im not saying there should be bouncers holding Tommy Gun's at every entrance to every casino in New Vegas, I am simply saying that while New Vegas is based off things like the movie Casino, Ocean's 11 & the rat pack era etc it is still a video game. Video games are suppose to be fun, the majority would find it more interesting if New Vegas was a bit more like New Reno and most your people who did not like New Reno won't like New Vegas anyway for the fact that it takes away from the setting (Fallout 1 only fan's I am of course refering to). You can still have a very legitimate well ran Howard Hughes corporate style Vegas without having police robots running around on one wheel in your facel taking away from the immersion of New Vegas it self. Nicky Santoro would have a real hard frickin time pulling half the stuff he pulled in Vegas with up in your face robot police on wheels running around ill tell you that.

PC mods of course fix the up in your face police robot problem, then I guess from the developers stand point most console players are pretty much completey unfamiliar with Fallout 2 and the game is already a step up from Fallout 3 in there view.

I would at least really like to see a professionly done Tommy Gun in New Vegas, I am not a modder and or else id try my hand at making a good Tommy Gun for New Vegas. Obsidian cleary are some gun nutt's, the compact grease gun is cool and sounds pretty legit, so if the Tommy Gun made it in or is DLC I will at least be happy to have that as modding up in your face robot police OUT of New Vegas is most likley not too hard . . . Making a good Tommy Gun mod probably is.

Don't worry about this being the final tommy gun thread- even after it's released we'll still have them asking if it will be in DLC.

I actually don't doubt that it will be in the game, or at least DLC, if only to placate the constant whining that it just has to be in the game.

First DLC: Tommy Gun
Adds a tommy gun to your inventory. That's it. No quest or anything.
Price: $50

You mad, fallout fans?

..and if released two months after the FOOK team release FOOKing Vegas (I'm only guessing here)

not me, slightly off perhaps, irritated at times.. annoyed with the usual things in life, but certainly not mad.

Push the release date back a month then yeah, I'll be mad :P

A Tommy Gun and a BAR would be nice, but I'm hoping for the .223 pistol. Not only for nostalgic reasons, but in the original games it was a pistol that was valuable right through the end of the game. I suppose the Blackhawk worked like this in FO3, and the regular scoped .45 to a lesser extent, but as an original FO fan, I really would like to see my favorite gun make a comeback. And I'd like it to be like it was in FO1 too, only one in the game and you have to complete a specific quest to get it.
