I'm thinking about spending all the gold I get from the intro quest on drinks til I get wasted, a toast to Skyrim. Then start playing seriously

Ah'm gonna find me some little Khajiit kitties, a nice lil ball of wool, and watch them bat it around for a while.

Then I'll go exploring.

My very first thing? If I don't have one already, find a beginning Destruction, Alteration, Conjuration, and Restoration spell. Then, find a hood, some light armour, and an axe.

Reminds of the quest in Morrowind where you had to pretty much walk across the map with out talking to anyone.

 The amount of times that I failed that.

Personally, I probably will not explore until after the main quest. Unless the world is that interesting (not like Oblivion).

Walking across the map gains you what? Nothing more then playing the game will. To me, walking across the map is aimless and stupid.

someone has never really had fun in a TES game, its not all about the missons

I shall roam the entire map for weeks looking for the Adoring Fan's descendant and kill him or her. Then I will look for M'aiq the Liar's descendant and chill with him or her.

Killing and chilling, yeah. B)

I plan on trying to react as any escaped prisoner would. I'm assuming they'll outfit you with weapons for the tutorial section like they did in OB, but once I've clear the tutorial I'm dropping everything they've given me save for the bow, and running in one direction until my character feels safe (and not using the map as a reference until I reach my first settlement). If you just escaped your execution you'd gtfout of there! I aim to make it realistic, since you wouldn't just hit the ground running after being caught by people who want to kill you, and set out on grand adventures. I want to work up to everything at a believable pace, just to see how it goes.

I don't want to ruin it all exploring the whole world right away, I want to discover as I play and make it last longer. I want to still be discovering new amazing places when I've beaten the game.

The first thing I'm doing with Skyrim is:

1. Putting the disc in my computer deviceamajig.

2. Opening Skyrim.

3. Staring in awe at the menu screen.

4. Hitting new game and watching the intro.

5. Staring in awe at the intro.

6. Spending way too much time customizing my character to fit the description and story I have set up.

7. Staring in awe at my character, really seeing what I have been imagining my character to be.

8. Seeing where the game takes me.

9. Staring in awe at where the game takes me.

10. ????

11. Profit!

I'm not even past the character creation screen in my mind

I don't really think I'll be going any further than that the first day I have Skyrim... All I know is that I'm going to take it nice and slow.

I'll probably fight my way to a small village, preferably located in a forest. I plan on playing as a Bosmer Marksman-type class. So, I'll stick to the forests of Skyrim the most.

Step 1 - Head to he nearest tavern I can find.

Step 2 - Find the biggest, burliest Nord in said tavern.

Step 3 - Describe unspeakable acts I will commit upon his mother.

Step 4 - Engage in a tavern brawl!

I would rather explore the map in moderation then see the whole thing at once. I don't want to get bored of the land too quickly.

not a bad idea although i think it will be hard and you probably die :teehee: i would like to do that but when i start a game i tend to just do or see everything in the first area and slowly progress further, i am planing to be a thief so i am gonna loot everything from the village i will first run to, i just can't resist the shiny items

I really don't like to make plans when I play TES games. I just take it from the bat and do wathever comes to my minds, thats how I enjoy these games the most :)

Probally wonder about test leveling, find the end of the character creation/tutorial, know I'll probally restart 500 times not being happy with that one perk I took or a minor detail barely noticeable on my character. Or feel Ive wasted a level/points in some way. Hopefully the changes have fixed that from oblivion.

Also find a town, options for homes to buy, drool over that house it'll take ages to save up for the first time round, check out relationship options and see if I can show a guy what I learnt in prison.

I never said it was. The OP was saying hes going to walk across the map, as in a straight line from one side to the other.

I will explore, but as normal game play. While doing missions, If i see something interesting, Ill go check it out. While walking from town to town, I will check things out, but I will not make it my first priority to walk across the map like the OP plans to do.
