What do you guys think about this. The first thing I will do after I get out of prison is look where I start, and travel on foot through the forests, mountains, volcanic tundras and plains to the other side of the map. I think this would be an amazing experience.

That would be part of the adventure, just trying to survive the dangers of Skyrim! :D

You will explore the world when you play the game for the first time? Never thought of that, maybe I'll end up doing the same.

Reminds of the quest in Morrowind where you had to pretty much walk across the map with out talking to anyone.

The difference is that I plan on traveling from one side to the next not just wonder around aimlessly.

Since I'm not getting out of prison, but somehow while being led to my execution I'm either excaping or being rescued (at least according to what Todd has said) I will get my butt out of reach of the fanatical guards/people that want me dead and then I'll see where I go from there, but definitely not across country for the sake of just crossing the map. Since I'll be playing a mage I will most likely make my way to the mages city in hopes of finding some sanctuary while I sort things out. :tes:

Nah, I think the best way to experience Skyrim the first time, would be to start out exploring the first region, settling in a village for a time, performing a job to make some much needed gold, seeing what the city has to offer, doing a few quests, going through the MQ at a leisurely pace. I'll pretty much enter any region the MQ leads me to.

I'll be doing something similar, except I'm setting my sights on climbing the seven-thousand steps so I can jump off the throat of the world :P

Personally I'm going to make my way to the first village, do a job for some gold that will be really needed and buy a house and stock up on some seriously needed equipment. Then of course I'll go out and do a few quests (maybe kill a dragon? ).

I think I'll explore a little, then let the quests take me to most places. That'll make the quests more awesome and keep me in awe of the the unknown world for a longer time.

I'm gonna find the place where the quakecon demo started, and roleplay that I'm Todd at Quakecon and go to Riverwood, and talk to the blacksmith and go to the dungeon, and punch the mammoth, and kill two dragons. Yeah that's what I call a good time...

I won't be going around aimlessly. I'll be looking for traces of the vampire clans!

I will explore slowly and enjoy the experience as much as possible rather than rushing it. I remember whn I had first played Oblivion I didn't even go to Leyawiin until about 50 hours in. I like to crawl through the game and know that there is so much more to come that I haven't seen yet.

@Venator21 yes you can :celebration: I want a nice red head

I'll most likely walk from place to place for the first couple days I play the game just so I can explore. Probably head to the nearest town or city and start taking up side missions and stuff before even doing anything in the story.

Walking across the map gains you what? Nothing more then playing the game will. To me, walking across the map is aimless and stupid.

Like someone else said, I think I'll settle for a while in the first town/village that I encounter. Do some work, see if I can get to know the people. I know that the longer I play the game, the less patience I will have for that kind of stuff, so it's ideal to do so right from the start when everything feels magical. :hehe:
