The first thing you'll do when you get the game

Post » Fri Sep 02, 2011 9:03 am

As soon as I have it in my hands I'm getting on my push bike and getting the F outta there, my town is unsafe at night time, don't wanna encounter any angry gamers who had their preorder messed up, they might get violent (i would).

I'm going to feel like a little kid during Christmas time at the midnight launch. When i'm actually at the counter collecting my CE and it's finally in my hands, I don't think I can even explain that feeling

where have you pre-ordered it from?

I'm getting mine from game and I'm getting the CE. I'm sort of worried that out of all the times the postman has left a red card at the door he won't and i'll be waiting all day friday for it then find out that it was delivered on thursday and is at the post office. oh the stress.

Snap.

What annoys me is when they don't even knock and just put the card through. I have my postman trained now though

Barricade my room and play for 7 months solid with an ample supply of booze, [censored] and mags!

[edit] WHY IS FA.GS CENSORED

It's more politically correct to say cigarettes apparently.

yeah, I'm actually going to be hanging out the front window of my flat waiting for him to arrive. I might even phone the post office in the morning on friday just in case they did try on thursday but didnt put the red card in the door.

Have a little chat with him a couple of days before, it'll be fresh in his mind then.

If I walked out of the store with Skyrim in my hand I would follow these steps:

1. Stop walking.

2. Look at the copy of Skyrim in my hand.

3. Wonder, "Why the hell am I holding this gigantic piece of [censored]?"

4. Walk back into the store.

5. Return the game.

6. Drive back home.

If you hate the game so much then get off the forum. I ONLY come to this forum because skyrim will be epic and i dont even go to the forums of other games that will be good too. You are obviously going to buy the game, so stop pretending you aren't. And if you AREN'T going to buy it, you really must have no life to come on a forum for something you hate because apparently your time is only worth wasting. You need some friends to hang out with, you negative nancy

Pretty much :celebration:

I had that feeling when I bought the Oblivion, Fallout 3, New Vegas CE's and will for this one also.

I'm going to be getting a picture of the PC CE for my Facebook album as I did with the other CE's.

I'm going to put a lovely soft red satin pillow with glittery golden tassels on a intricately designed silver plate and place it gently outside the letterbox flap (indoors of course). And when the postman slots the game (still wrapped in brown paper) through the letterbox, the game will slowly drift downwards onto the pillow. Then, I will emerge from the tent I set up, pick up the game, slowly open the package and admire the cover art. After that I'll peel away the thin plastic and open the game, then I'll breath in the smell of the manual, the disc and the box. (That new game smell).
Finally, I'll take the game to my Xbox and will be reported missing by my family.

I won't be driving that day. I will be walking the 1.5 miles into town (because the chances of me getting any excercise in the following weeks are very slim). After picking up my copy I will take the bus home so I can start reading the manual. I'll finish reading the manual while the game installs on my 360. Then I'll load it up and dive into the first river I see, looking for tasy shellfish.

Wonder what the release party at Bethesda must've been like. 6 years of bottled up party-rage. I'm sure it'll be epic.

I'll be getting Skyrim at lunchtime so I'll be heading back to work where I'll have a hard time thinking about work!

What to do when you first walk out the store with Skyrim?

Continue breathing. That seems to work well for me.

Day of release:

1. workout early morning
2. go to work and art direct stuff, as well as read online reviews (without spoilers)
3. pick up game during lunch as well as food/drinks for the weekend
4. back to work (read more about skyrim) for the longest afternoon of my life most likely
5. go home and read instruction manual while taking a dump (95% of us do or have done this - feels good man)
6. set my wife up a cozy spot in the bedroom with a macbook pro, tv & dvds, books (she's excited about her own little "seclusion" that weekend as well)
7. put on comfortable pajama pants and t-shirt, turn down the heat so that the house is nice and cold (to get that extra nordic feel)
8. make coffee and settle in for a full weekend of skyrim with my dog curled up next to me

make some good food when hungry, sleep when tired. other than that, there's no schedule and the concept of time will be irrelevant.

I ordered Skyrim online so it should arrive in the post the day before it's UK release, like every other game I order online does.

As soon as it arrives in the post, I will install it on the xbox. Whilst waiting for it to install, I will stock my mini fridge with strawberry cider, make sure controller is fully charged and read the manual.

Then once it's finished installing, load it up and ignore everyone for a while :D

Rip off the packaging, force open the disc case, thrust the disc into the PS3 and play until I pass out from starvation, eat some Spicy Prawn flavoured instant noodles, continue playing Skyrim and throw the lounge table at anyone who tries to stop me. :P

Download the 100 mods that I need to use (200 in Oblivion) in order to experience the type of gameplay that I desire in Skyrim. Yeah I'm waiting until the mods are out before i start playing.

Yeah right! You know you aren't going to wait till mods come out, you're not fooling anyone! Good polished mods wont be out for a while. I give it a few months, (3-5).
