The first thing you'll do when you get the game

Post » Fri Sep 02, 2011 4:36 am

1. School 8am-14.30pm
2. Bus home.
3. Open mailbox
4. Feel my heart pumping in a dangerous speed.
5. Install.
6. While installing, I call a friend of mine.
7. He comes to my place with his PS3 (I play PC)
8. We play from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening.

Driving home with a smile on my face that lets people think I'm on drugs.
Read manual while pondering what race I settle down with.
Spend way too much time making sure said race looks good.

I'm waiting for mine to be posted so come Friday morning if a small miracle hasn't happened and it's been posted thursday i'll be waiting at the front door till it arrives. GOD I HOPE IT ARRIVES FRIDAY!
Once it does arrive I will most likely take many pictures of the Dragon and send it to my friends and post it all over facebook and twitter even though no one will care. Then I will arrange some snacks and beverages close to hand and start reading the manual (I'm thinking of buying the official guide, anyone else doing that? I did't with Oblivion because I bought it years after its release and then just went on wiki if I wanted to do research about classes and races etc).
Once all that's over i'll spend the next 6 days playing it. Then I have to go back to work.

Stare at the box like a khajiit in a plantation for moon sugar.

Then watch the opening, have 25 mini heart-attacks and then play.

Since I'm getting the CE, I don't think I'll be able to open the box. I bet it's aesthetically incredible.

My plans actually includes three prep days of pre release.

#1) Spend extra time ensuring all the nagging things that need to be done at the house, are all done.
#2) Play Candy Land like 40 times with my 4 year old. And go bike riding...Alot.
#3) 1 Day out. Ensure there is Home made apple pie. Which means, I have to make it! Have a very good bottle of scotch. Good Coffee and creamer.
#4) Release day. Go to the gym in the morning. Work out all the work tension.
#5) Be at Gamestop around 9:30 AM. With coffee and the dog. Walk around the area, loiter, savor the late fall air. Drink coffee. Play some fetch. (There is a park in front of my gamestop)
#6) Salivate while concludoing my purchase with gamestop.
#7) GO home, while trying not to rip open the game while driving.
#8) Read the manual, at least sort of read it.
#9) Play Skyrim.
#10) After some amount of time, determine if I am still married and employed. Make sure my kids are alive, well, maybe after one more level!

This thread is one Tamriel-sized nerdgasm. Love it!

Someone mentioned cleaning their room. I agree, cleaning the living room in my apartment will be key. The feng shui has to be real nice. No clutter or bad vibes.

I'm going to have beers but also red bulls for late night. Perhaps trons.

Both PS3 controllers will be fully charged.

I'll probably take a good hour or 90 minutes creating the character for sure. Still haven't decided on which race - it's going to be a gut instinct. Usually play Dunmer, but might go with a human this time. Or maybe I'll just create multiple characters at once?

I'm counting on my local secret Gamestop having absolutely no traffic/business as usual - for whatever reason, it's almost never busy.

Night before I will charge my ps3 controller, and force myself to sleep.

Wait for my mom to get home so she can give me a ride. (I have no car :( ).
Go to the gamestop where I pre-ordered it...still have 2 months to get that money...hehe
Have a heart attack and hug the cashier when he hands me the copy.
Get home dump the whole bag of dog food in my dogs bowl.
Bring a gallon of Dr. Pepper and some pizza into my room.
Rip apart the plastic.
Get the disk and have another heart attack.
Turn on my playstation and take out the game that I had and insert Skyrim.
Have another heart attack as I watch the opening movie.
Spend a long time in the character creation screen. And make myself in the game.
Save before I exist the tutorial "dungeon" don't want to do that again.
My heart explodes.
Run over to a town and get Married to a smexy Orc guy.
Lose weight due to not eating for weeks.(Good thing been wanting to lose weight for a long time)
Lose what little social life I had.

Ordered it online but as soon as it gets to my house... Probably scream like a little girl, run upstairs, stare at it's pure epicness for about 4 hours and then put it in my Xbox and kill the first thing I see. :celebration: :tes:

The first thing I'll do when it's delivered on 10.11.11 (UK date order) a day earlier than its official release, is go through the manual, take a brief look at the Game Guide that'll come with it, then have a cup of Tea, psych myself up and get stuck in.

a guy from UK drinking tea?
Haha, sorry about that, but it was...stereotypical :)
I'm probably going to look in my mailbox everyday the Skyrim week begins, and when I get it: RUN!! SCREAM! RUN AND SCREAM, and gently put the disc in the xbox tray...and PLAY!

Drive home over the speed limit and carefully put the disc in and be amazed as my life is slowly drained away by the game.

My preorders usually get delivered a day early (around 75% of the time).

This thread is wonderful
Almost makes me feel like i'm right there in the fabled time of legend
when the fifth coming is prophecised to take place
and further complete it's ascension to godhood
and I will be patiently (or impatiently) waiting as it's follower and Deciple to bask in it's radiant glory...

Hey you think it will be popular enough to sell out anywhere? cuz I'm too lazy to pre-order (don't know why)

where have you pre-ordered it from?

I'm getting mine from game and I'm getting the CE. I'm sort of worried that out of all the times the postman has left a red card at the door he won't and i'll be waiting all day friday for it then find out that it was delivered on thursday and is at the post office. oh the stress.

Hold it to my bosom and squeal so the windows shatter... Then run away before they try to make me pay for the damage...

I'm heading straight on the hunt for the legendary weapons...Then I'll hunt down Umbra (Assuming he/she is in the game) and slay them. I also want to see the volcanic region of Skyrim...should be interesting
