The first thing you'll do when you get the game

Post » Thu Sep 01, 2011 8:18 pm

I've been wondering what the first thing you guys will do when you walk out the store with a beautiful copy of skyrim clutched under your arm. Will you jump for joy in public? Smother the case in kisses? Run home ASAP, rip it open, and install it? This is what I will do:

1. Stare at it in awe while thinking of the awesomeness that lies within that case
2.Walk home at a normal pace, still glaring at the case.
3. Once home, carefully open it, blow the dust off the CD compartment in my computer and slowly insert the disk.
4. Glare at the beautfiul installer screen, install it.
5.Play for the rest of the day and night

Download the 100 mods that I need to use (200 in Oblivion) in order to experience the type of gameplay that I desire in Skyrim. Yeah I'm waiting until the mods are out before i start playing.

I will grab it hurriedly and stick it to my chest, suspiciously eying all those around me while feverntly rubbing the case and muttering "my precious, my precious"

Rip out the instruction manual and memorize it before I get home, then put the disc in my PS3 and load it up.

Drive home with my newly acquired driving permit, duh.
Really though, I'll walk along the road to the nearest town, pretending that I don't know anything and get a start on doing some quests. :touched:

Try to explain to the police officer who pulled me over for speeding why getting home to install Skyrim as fast as possible was, in fact, an emergency and he should let me off with a warning?

Drive home, open game case, flip through manual, look at premium map, and install the game.

After I install it and get past the tutorial area, I will ignore everything and just start picking flowers. Then I will make lots of potions.

Only the good ones and the modifiable ones.

A good game can last me years and earn thousands of dollars from me. A bad one... just a few days.... and those are a dime a dozen.

You guys ready for this? I have that whole day planned out if I'm lucky enough to not be interrupted or anything like that.

Night Before Release
I will clean my room because I need to have as much space as I can to relax as I play Skyrim.

Day Of Release
I will wake up at 8 AM (my local malls Gamestop opens at 10 AM).
I will eat a big breakfast so I have energy to stay up until the next morning.
Take a shower.

(by this time it should be at least 9 AM)

I will wait around in excitement until 9:30 AM
At 9:30 AM I will gralb my 360 controller and a small blade and leave my house as I make my way to the mall. Reason for bringing controller is so that when I pull up close enough to my house, I can turn my 360 on before I even get out of my car and the reason for the blade is so I can easily tear off wrapping while driving.
Then I will get home and stay in my room for at least 24 hours...playing SKYRIM!!!

I've always preferred terrible games myself. Good games are overrated. :hehe:

Laugh like a [censored] and run home with it!

As it's installing I will prepare a medium-sized pile of weed, a bottle of spicy shiraz and order a pizza... let the journey begin!

I will probably race out the door of my local Gamestop, overflowing with child-like joy and smiling like an idiot. I'll open my car door and get in, setting the (presumably) large CE box on my passenger seat as I fumble with navigating the key into the ignition. I'll take a peek over at the CE box and reflect on how utterly surreal this experience is, because it seems like just yesterday I was [censored]ing about how I had to endure 10 months of the game haunting my thoughts and dreams, and tickling my imagination. I've waited 31 years for this game. It was mapped out in the stars long before I was born, really. And now it's in my possession. I'll drive very carefully, but with a skip in my heart, back home and lovingly unbox the game as if I am undressing the most beautiful woman that ever lived. I'll check out the Alduin statue and the art book, but I won't be able to help myself now that I'm so [censored] close... the game will find its way into my Xbox on its own accord. I don't remember putting it there, don't even remember popping it out of the case.

And then I'll wake up and realize that there's still about 9 weeks left until my dream is a reality.

I'll pop in the disc and start the installation. While that's going on I'll read the manual. Then I'll spend a couple hours just messing around in the character creator before I even start the game. The first time I step into Skyrim has to be perfect. The anticipation is part of the fun for me. :)

Yea I meant moddable games. I don't play on PC, so i'm not sure how many games come with CK's. I'm curious though...how does a game earn thousands of dollars from you?
