The First Week So Far...

Post » Sat May 14, 2011 3:07 am

This game is fun, a bit of a letdown, but overall, im enjoying it so far. Probably played it for around 5-7 hrs, unless the online gets any better, thisll be traded in within a few weeks

My biggest complaints would have to be...

Lag, its just ridiculous the amount of lag I recieve in these online games. Were in 2011 for godsake, cant we have dedicated servers all around.
The team pvssyr that is going on during gameplay, why do I have to hear every 5 seconds that someone is going for a capture point
The texture popping, while its just cosmetic, its very annoying
Having so many dead ends in the map design, this probably wouldnt have been such a big deal if the minimap actually displayed the structure of the maps, making it easier to traverse across
The fact that the parkour doesnt really seem to play that much a role in the overall gameplay, while this is probably my style of play, this never really seems to be that big a deal in the scheme of things
Xbox live seems dead already

The biggest one for me is, if the game was released a week early, they obviously knew about all these bugs/ issues with the game, especially online, so Im sure Bethesda wanted this out the door a week before LA Noire cam out, to make some extra dough

I like it, but yeah.. It is kinda dead on the 360, at max I come into a game with 2 other players if even that

Where is everyone? They need to make some kind of lobby-viewing, like scroll over a mission and see how many players are currently playing that mission

it is annoying that i dont know how many people are playing what playlist, i prefer the lists without bots because the bots ruin this game, they shouldnt be online at all.

First week so far is RIDICULOUS!

I'am not hating on the game (this game fixed with a some tweaks is the FPS gamers dream) but i can't believe how they pushed this game out even a week early.

They should have used that time for more fixes and push the game out on the 18th-20th or something.

But waiting that this game is getting fixed now is just painful. The weekend makes it worse. :sadvaultboy:

I think the game is fun, the problems it has definately tarnish it a bit.. but overall it's pretty good

what I would suggest is playing this game on freeplay mode, with on the competetive setting.. the teams are only 5vs5 but there is no bots! We have had some extremely good games playing this way.. I wish there was a way to limit the bots in normal play, they definately detract from the overall experience.. they are seriously dumb :(

Heres to hoping that splash damage can iron out the problems, because they have a good game here.. that will just get forgotten if left in it's current state

Couldn't agree more. Actually I like that game although I can't really enjoy it. Low FPS no matter what video setting I choose and laggy server destroy the fun. If these things were fixed Brink could be a really good game. These performance problems remind me on Black Ops which has never been fixed there. So I'm a bit worried if Brink is gonna share the same destiny. I've got an AMD Phenom II X6 1100T with a Radeon 6900 (Catalyst 11.5a) and I think that's more power than I need to run this game 1920*1080 with full details. The game runs slightly better if I scale everything down but there is no big difference to full details and high resolutions. The game just runs slow :(. I haven't checked how many FPS I have but it feels like less than 30.

Yeah im in the same boat - This game was completely over hyped to the max by SD... I feel ive been sold en entirely different game than let on in all the beginning trailers.

I find it really disgusting known that they pushed the game a week early - A week early? You kiddin me? They never saw ANY of this coming?

It was poorly executed - Poorly coded - poorly advertised....just poor.

I have been one to boast and advertise brink from day 1 - to friends family, well dont i feel like the fool.

Theres no point in me going into "reasons" for why this game is a big let down - everyone knows the reasons...

Im just more sickened at the fact i payed out cash for this game and my expectations were completely shattered by LACK off.

The Alpha of this game looked better than this full release ive got now.

And dont be let on by all the die hard [censored] who will continuously shoot down people like us who want to give a truthful opinion on what we believe and feel for this game, and to me, its nothing but remorse.

Theres far too many people all having the same problems for ignorant fools to come in and claim "wtf you guys on about, this game is AMazing!!11!!" - "Omg i dont have any problems at all!!!" - [censored].

People will be in denial on a constantly basis when it comes to trying to admit to themselves that hey, this game didn't turn out too be what they made it out to be.

Its a shame really - Cause this game, the ideas, the pieces....they were all there - Just sadly they couldnt put it together properly.

Ive waited out 1 week - in hope that things will be fixed, so far only the minor things have, rendering the game useless & unplayable.

Whats even funnier is the fact that i have over 50+ friends on my steam list and for the first 2-3 days, EVERYONE and i mean everyone - was playing brink.

But now? Lucky if there 4 people playing it now. People have grew tired and bored of it already - 3 years of making for a game that has less content than an xbox live demo.

(DLC is coming for free june, so Please continue, my good sir.) - Yeah, good luck running that too.

You have let me down badly SD - i feel hurt in a way that the sting from Too human in the past is now starting to arise.

I just hope Firefall can live upto its expectations now.

Ill give this game another week - If nothing changes, i will be trading in.

Shame....such a shame.

Okay sir, lets have YOU create a better version of BRINK. How about they turn controls over to you and you can build BRINK 2 to be better then any game ever created. Lets put you infront of 130 people and individualy tell them what to work on.

I am intrigued to see how far you can go.

I just bought this game yesterday and am really enjoying it, I have played a few online matches that are laggy but I just join ones without bots that have a few people on each team and it is really fun. I finished all the challenges on all levels and Im now level 12 or 13 so theres not much more content to unlock but overall Im glad I bought it, Im on 360 btw. :flamethrower:
